    Do you do rebates?

If so, have you received all that you sent off for? I know I haven't. What has been your experience?

    Re: Do you do rebates?

I do rebates several times a year. Usually on items associated with Christmas shopping, paint, and hygiene items. I have had good luck with my rebates getting what is promised. The only company I have had trouble with is Costco, and numerous times I have followed their rules to the letter and I still have not received my rebate. Numerous times I have received notices from them stating that I did not comply with the rules, but when I look at what they requested and what I provided it matches. I have long since learned to photocopy EVERYTHING when it comes to rebates and keep a file. I usually make about $75.00 to $150.00 per year off rebates.

I almost never buy anything at a drug store without its being an item which will be rebated in part.  I find grocery store rebates to be less in quality, because you generally need to buy more than you need, or extra items that you certainly do not need.

I receive 90% of my rebates without any difficulty.  Once, with Rite-Aid, I actually had to go to the Better Business Bureau to get satisfaction.

As far as rebates on computer stuff goes, I have always received the rebates without any problem.

Like Juardo, I earn about $125 annually from the rebates.

    Re: Do you do rebates?

I rarely use rebates. I don't like sending in my receipt. They have my name, address, and what I bought. When I deposit the check, they also have the bank I use. This doesn't even include the possibility that the club warehouse wouldn't share information. Although we do belong to a club warehouse, I limit my shopping there. I limit my grocery card use to discounted items.

I have done rebates and always gotten the check in the mail. At least I think so, sometimes it has taken so long I have forgotten I sent in the request! The biggest one time rebate, which was also the most work with the most hoops and longest turnaround, was for cell phones. I did keep a file on that one because I really thought I would have to fight for it but it came, almost $200. The little ones, a dollar or two, are worth the price of the stamp for the happy surprise in the mail when they come 12 weeks after submission.

I have done the phone rebates in the past. DH works for at&t, and since they merged with cinglular/sbc, they have new employee-only offers that don't require rebates. We don't buy at the store anymore.

For other items, I shop a lot at CVS and their "rebates" are printed at the end of the transaction as store coupons. It works for me!

Now about the mail-in offers, not unless it's more than $5. When I spend 41 cents to mail it off, plus my time, it doesn't seem like much of a value.

Dear GardenGirl, Rite-Aid's rebates can be sent in online.

That sounds like a good plan, but we don't have a Rite-Aid here. Sad

I know that Walgreen's has an Easy-Saver rebate club that allows you to send in one form per month, so all your rebates are together. I don't shop at Walgreens much - it's a little out of the way.

Today I got two bags of fun-size M&Ms at CVS for $3 (2 for $4 minus $1 coupon) and I got $2 in extra bucks printed on my receipt. I really like getting the money right away, instead of waiting for it.

I still do them, though not as many as I used to .... I just don't see that many deals.   I have gotten back about $90 so far this year.

I scan everything, then keep the copies in a "pending" folder. When I get a check, I take out the copies and do a quick check of the rest. If something's been sitting for more than 6 weeks, I know to start checking into it.
