    Preserving Food

How do you preserve most of your food..freeze it, can it, dehydrate it, other?

The vegetables we grow are canned, our fruit is either frozen, dehydrated or canned, the herbs are dehydrated & all meat is frozen at our house.  Turkey is sometimes bottled at Thanksgiving, when the birds are all on sale.

I turn some of it into chutney (a savory condiment). I've made pickles in the past. I have never dehydrated food. I've helped prepare things for freezing.

The majority is either canned or frozen.  I do dry some herbs and fruits.

I freeze my food. I have tried my hand at canning but have not yet been successful.

Forgot about the pickles!  We make beet pickles, sweet pickles, dill pickles & apricot pickles.  I also do jam, jelly & butters.

I'm really into dehydrating right now, but also waterbath can and freeze a lot. Mean to take on pressure canning this year as well. I've also started to practice lacto-fermentation. Just finished a batch of cortido. It's quite spicy, but I think will make a good condiment. AM
