    Home Remedies

Do you use home remedies for prevention, heath boosting and minor issues?

    Re: Home Remedies

Yes, for almost everything. I don't like chemicals.

I use herb teas to fight viruses, oil of oregano and tea tree oil to fight infections and I take fish oil and gingko biloba for blood pressure, as well as a several other things, depending on the circumstances.

Honey is great as a wound dressing. Scratches or minor cuts and extremely dry, cracked skin respond quickly to it. Yerba mate is an energy booster that's gentler than caffeine, and so on.

    oil of oregano

I have not tried that one.

Tea tree oil is a must have in my medicine cabinet along with teas, garlic capsules and honey.

Oil of oregano can be used topically or internally, in capsule form. It's good for bacterial as well as viral infections.

I take supplements but I discovered that its tricky when taken with certain medications. I eat yogurt for breakfast plus I started taking a probiotic at night and it was really causing some problems. Had all kinds of intestinal issues which have since stopped since stopping the probiotic.

    Re: Home Remedies

I read recently that probiotics should be taken an hour before eating. The idea is to get it into your intestines so the stomach acid that's produced to digest a meal won't effect it. There are a lot of things to think about.
