    Computer Games

I believe it's safe to say that most of us have computers and the internet. But do is your computer more than a tool where you research money saving tips, how to guides and a word processor? Do you play computer games? Do you think games for the computer are frugal?

I have no clue!  The last time I played a game was Pac Man back in the 80's.  17 yr. old dd is not a gamer so I'm glad it's not a budget or time issue for us.

    Re: Computer Games

I haven't found games to play as far as online but my sis has given me a game that I sometimes play while on the phone. (Matching like blocks to drop them out... we call it the 'same' game). Otherwise I don't spend much time playing online. I look for articles from frugal and cheap sites, e-mail and do IM's with family and friends. I was addicted to a chat site for awhile but being on there was worse than being on a soap opera! (I guess now my obsession is to become cheap because I hang out waiting for new postings on here). Anyhoo, back to the games, I guess they can be frugal if you can find free ones. Entertainment is different to everybody. One person may like computer games while another one theater.

Every one of us is a gamer here.  Geeked

It was one of the things my husband and I had in common when we met and we passed the passion to the kids. We do play computers game but my frugal self refuses to pay full price. I also refuse to buy just because we want it. I will buy games when they are discounted as a gift.

I actually know a man in Ohio that plays games online to that extent. He has poor health (plus he has a negative view on things) so he sits around his apartment and plays games all the time. He rather interact with the computer games than real live humans.

That's sad. Games can be fun and relaxing but one needs more than that.

    Re: Computer Games

I'm not much of a gamer but my husband and daughter are.  They have a couple of game sites where they play.  My daughter is into horses and has found a couple of horse games that don't cost anything and I figure if she out grows the horse craziness before too long I won't have spent a lot of money. We have also found some math quiz games that help with school

It is sad when all people do is play games, or other things, on the computer.  We had to make a rule around here that one day a week there would be no electronic games of any kind or my daughter would be a 24-7 gamer.

Every now and then, I'll play some games on MSN's homepage.  They have lots of free word and puzzle games.  We really got into one called Insaniquarium but wouldn't pay $20 to buy the full version from MSN.  We ended up finding it at a computer store in a discount bin for half the price and thought it was worth the investment since we both liked it so much, but that's the only one we've bought in quite some time.  It really can be relaxing and a nice break from work/studying.
