DIY Stocking Stuffers - let's brainstorm

Inspired by an article I read elsewhere on the 'net.   What DIY stocking stuffers can you come up with?

    Here are my ideas:-

    1. "Business" cards for the kids - I did this years ago with the older kids.  I created the cards using the templates in Microsoft Publisher, added clip art related to their hobbies and gave them job titles like "Future Olympian" etc.   Cost was minimal - three sheets of card stock from my home office supplies (one sheet per child), printer ink etc.  The kids LOVED them.   No addresses - just name & home phone number.
    2. Coin purse - I was given a piece of silver "pleather" that was about to be discarded by a local costume designer.    A few cents for a zipper and voila - "instant" coin purse.  Since I was already planned to include key rings in the stockings, I can attach them to the coin purses.
    3. An organizer to hang earrings - a cheap photo frame, a piece of plastic canvas cut to fit into the frame and that's it.
    4. "Reindeer poop" - chocolate covered raisins or peanuts repackaged with a homemade label
    5. A purse sized first aid kit - band aid, antiseptic wipe, OTC pain relievers etc in a small ziploc bag
    6. Earrings/ bracelets made from my stash of jewelry making supplies
    7. A homemade Christmas ornament

Crocheted, knitted or needlepointed bookmarks, cookies with their names on them, scrunchies, crocheted or sewn from scraps, knitted head bands to keep ears warm, sugar candy. Can't think of anything else right now.

Use parchment paper and print their first names with the meaning. We did this for all of our kids one year. We framed them in cheap frames from Walmart.  You could dothese really small or larger for a wrapped present.Babs

Another idea for adults that I had forgotten about - quilted coffee mug coasters.  I had made one for myself years ago after I'd made one mess too many - coffee/ tea rings on office paperwork is never a good look!   I have fabric and batting in my stash and can easily whip up a couple. For an inexpensive gift for a workmate etc, you could give a nice dollar store mug along with a coaster.

In the past, I've also made a quilted placemat, with little pockets for cutlery and a string to tie when it's all rolled up.  I made one for use at work, when I found myself eating lunch at my desk on a regular basis.  Add some inexpensive cutlery and this too could become another workmate gift

If you want to make the coaster or placemat seem store bought, print a wrap around label on your home computer.   "Designer Mug Coaster" or "Placemat-To-Go" come to mind as possible wording options.  I'm sure I could come up with more creative wording when I'm functioning with a "full deck". My brain's a little foggy from the cold meds I'm currently taking!
