Re: Friday November 6 How are you Stretching?
Toni, I took DD to school and figured if one had not been started by the time I returned I would start it. Glad to see it's already up and ready for us daily stretchers! The headache I had yesterday is gone! My throat is still killing me, but my cough is very productive! I figure I've got another day on the couch and by tomorrow I should be ready to feel human again. I've been drinking lots of water to keep my hydrated and hopefully flush the oogies out of me. I may mix up some OJ today b/c I love OJ when I'm not feeling well. I'll be pulling a FlyLady and just doing 15 minutes at a time in the kitchen if I can. I took 3 naps yesterday and slept soundly through the night. I would like another nap today. Rest and water seem to work wonders on colds. Hopefully today I will hear back about the job. They said they were going to make a decision by the end of the week. I will keep the phone near me so I don't miss any calls today. Do not have enough strength right now to do the weekly shopping trip. Will go out tomorrow and get bare necessities -- milk, bread, eggs, slice cheese, activia yogurt for DD (antibiotics just upset her tummy so badly), bananas. We have enough meats, canned foods, frozen veggies and baking staples that we can just live off of those.
The whole point of turkey is to get to the pie.

Re: Friday November 6 How are you Stretching?
Funny how we are all set in our "forum ways." I miss VNW starting these, but I do understand her computer problems.
Sunshine...I really hope you get the job you interviewed for, but more importantly I pray that your cold goes away soon. Nothing worse than a mommy and a caregiver down without help.
Today should be semi-stretchy. I brought my breakfast of sausage and biscuit. I have leftover spaghetti and meat sauce in the refrigerator here at work...as long as it has not dissappeared yet....and my coffee. We should be having our usual Friday night pizza...roll out dough and all the fixins in the freezer/frig. mmmm I love pizza.
We are doing "Fall Cleaning" at our house this weekend. I need to catch up on laundry ... before it overtakes my ENTIRE house. Dust, mop, clean, you all know the routine. Since I've gone back to work after having the baby....lets just say he's crawling now and I MUST mop and vaccume before it grosses me out! And it's not like I don't do it often, but now I have to do it MORE often. ...if only the cleaning fairy would stop by....
So thats it for us this weekend (as far as I know.)
Have a wonderful day!

Re: Friday November 6 How are you Stretching?
Yet another day in limbo here dh didn't bother calling his union steward but called the union liason leaving a message hoping for some word one way or another. Since he's still home once dd#2 goes to school he can help me organize the freezer and learn there is a way to do it and still have room for more food. I'm going to try and finish off the pumpking I cooked down on Sunday with pumpkin muffins and pies I'm pretty sure it's still good given it's been in the fridge since Sunday evening when it was cooked down. If I have enough left tomorrow I might make a few pumpkin cheese cakes for church bake sales or coffee hour, the pumpkin cheesecake recipe I use is the pastor's favorite so if they were to go to a bake sale they would be prebought before anyone had a chance to see they were there.
I've no idea what supper is but am getting so I eat breakfast and supper finally.

Re: Friday November 6 How are you Stretching?
It's finally Friday! A busy morning for me cut short by my DS asthma appointment. I wish DH could have taken him but when I said something to him at 7:15 this morning about finding the paperwork in my mess of a desk (even though it has been on the calendar for 2 months), he said, "you could have asked me to take him." Ugh. Do I need to ask my husband and father of my children to do parenting things? I guess so. I said to him "you could have asked if you could take him as well." It's a moot point, I already put in for the sick leave and DH would have to reschedule a meeting. So short morning at work for me. Sorry for the frustration but DH just assumes I am very flexible. But I only work 1/2 days on Fridays and then to leave 1/2 way thru the morning means I'm only working 2 hours at the office. And to cap it off, I had a voice mail from a confused lawyer about a letter I sent...had a glaring typo once I re-read it. So left him a message. I'm at fault. I do my own typing and mailings. So no one to blame but me.
Dinner at home tonight. I hope to finish laundry up and start on a grocery list. I also have 2 shows recorded that I would like to try adn watch after the boys are in bed tonight. Need to round up library books and DVDs to avoid late fees. Due on monday but we need to start looking now!
No money out today, except for a copay at the doctor's for DS appt. Take care everyone and have a great weekend! Prayers to those at Ft. Hood and their families and friends. I can't believe the tragedy and don't know what to think of the violence.

Re: Friday November 6 How are you Stretching?
Good morning all,
Sorry to hear of VNWs computer problems. I knew she was haveing her guys work on it. I have taken a few days off because I have been so busy, it has been good for me to concentrate on stuff.
Today will be stretchy, making some money from a computer job, going to the store for a few things only... all food from home.
Daughter been sick all week it seems and work and school are keeping me so busy.
Take care all!

Re: Friday November 6 How are you Stretching?
pumpkin, can your dh help more in the cleaning? I know it was a big shock to me how much housework there was after a baby! just starting to slow down and my youngest is 5.
well should be my first no spend day of the week! woohoo. bought more leftover halloween candy and a dress shirt and sweater high priced then I normally do but sometimes you need to spend more for quality. ordered a pair of dark grey pumps to $100. the cashier did give me a $10 coupon against them so that was nice. dressy but comfortable, perfect heel fat kitten heel. I have been looking for good dressy comfy pumps for ages. no luck in cheaper ones or value village. need ones that go to everywhere, school work, etc. shoes all seem to be stilettos and I can't wear them anymore.
did clean out the kids bookcase and gave some books to ds classroom. have some for selling too. going to work today and the kids school and grandmas. and we have a free kids event today to go to tonight so that should make the kids happy!
off to do dishes and make cheese sandwiches for dd and I for lunches.

Re: Friday November 6 How are you Stretching?
Brought my breakfast & lunch to work today.....but for dinner tonight we are going to pick up some Chinese food......we don't do this often, it's a treat for our family. We've had a hard week with me working 2 jobs 7 days straight, so this will be a nice treat. Other than that I may need to put some gas in my car, but no other money out!!!! Have a great weekend everyone!!

Re: Friday November 6 How are you Stretching?
Today's not going to be super stretchy, but we'll do what we can. Brought breakfast and coffee, going to go out to Jimmy John's for lunch. Wound up having different things the past two nights, so dirty rice, salad & cornbread tonight for dinner. I might throw an apple crisp in the oven since I have everything to make it, and we have vanilla ice cream leftover from DH's birthday in the freezer we can have with it, needs to be used to make room.
I plan to stop by Kroger on the way home to take advantage of some of the mix 'n match buy 10 items. The coffee we drink plus tollhouse chocolate chips are part of that special and it winds up being $5.49 for the 44.5 oz. plastic thing of coffee and $1.99 for the standard size package of chocolate chips, so going to get two of the coffee and rest chips for Christmas baking. Might just pick up a few other things we'll need through the week and call it good for grocery shopping, too.
