Today I spent 3.95 on some Jiffy Corn Bread mix and a couple cans of green chilis.  I added one can to the mix with some corn and made some muffins for work tomorrows potluck at work.

They turned out nice.  Also decorated a pumpkin with DD for the contest at work tomorrow.

All in all, its nice to do a couple of fun things after having a hard day.

    No spend tomorrow!

spent $29.18 at safeway for  cookies for kids parties, laundry detergent, ham lunch meat and a few other things.   also shopped with my mom at value village seniors day so 30% off.  about $15, still have to fiqure it out. all on the same bill.  got some books, mags for the kids and a fantasy art book from the 70's for dh for xmas, and a old fp toy for me.damaged but the price was right :)  a couple of vintage thomas vhs original shining time station, always on the lookout for pants for dd to stock up but no luck.  at least prices are coming down on clothes.

still have to get the stuff for a veggie platter for work friday. and insurance, gas and halloween carnival.  at least no more money out for halloween!

This Halloween was kind of expensive for us too Martha.  I had to get water and make carrot fingers for DDs school.  I bought a costume for me.  Dumb.  I got a little kit for my pumpkin, another dumb thing.  DD got to borrow her costume and our two pumpkins were bought for us.  Oh.. and I purchased some junk for her goodie bag at Walgreens weeks ago and I bought a couple of bags of candy at Walmart for 2.00 a piece.  Today was money out for corn bread, but that wasn't too bad either.

It did add up.  I can't imagine how Christmas is going to add up.  I have already been buying little things here and there for DD.  But I am stopping.  I think I will do better if I wait and buy at last minute, it might actually make me spend less.  Well, not absolute last minute, but at least not now!

Our trip to visit family will take enough money and I hope to have that cost paid next month... hopefully.

Tuesday was not a no spend day for me.  It was payday and I grocery shopped at 2 different stores, mailed a package at the post office, mailed some bills, put gas in my truck and had lunch at Taco Bell!  Only unplanned expense yesterday was the stop at Taco Bell.

Today will also not be a no spend day.  I have a Dr's appointment this morning for some blood work (no money out for that) and I have to find a piece of brown poster board so that DH & I can finish our decoration's for the Trunk or Treat night at church on Saturday.  Should only be a couple $'s for the poster board.  If I don't find brown I'll just paint a piece of white after DH draws the tree for me.

I also have some more bills that need to get paid later today and I have to drop the check off to pay the water bill.  I also got a check from my mom last week and I'll be doing some online shopping for Christmas either today or tomorrow.

So not doing too well this week on the no spend days.  Hope next week is better.

    Striving1:
Then the dog ate DS's retainer.

That's too funny!! I can't imagine how that happened, but I'll take your word for it. I know when I wore braces and later had the retainer I had a bad problem with throwing the retainer away because I'd wrap it in a napkin when I ate.

Jillibean: We have a black lab, who is tall enough to put his head on the table.  DH told DS to leave the retainer on the table because DS was having a snack.  They came back from running errands and we found the retainer on the floor in three pieces, with bite marks all over it.  So he didn't officially "eat" it, just destroyed it.  LOL!

Yesterday another no spend day.  Today I need to buy one item for just a couple of bucks, so that will be it for today.

This Halloween has been a little pricey for me too.  Regular costume and candy costs but also coordinating DS class party-spent more than I thought I would (yesterday ended up spending an extra $10 or so) plus the school carnival (again, spent more than I expected both in prep and at the carnival itself!).  It's been fun though.

Today, it a no spend day!  Should be tomorrow too!  Maybe even Friday though I might need another little bag of candy for trick or treaters, we've kind of depleted ours!

Jennylyn, I fiqured some things would cost more when ds started school but forgot about class parties for some reason. though he had preschool parties. selective memories I guess.  At least I know with the school money going out dies right down after halloween.   it is a big fundraiser for them.  It is really fun for the kids.  At least the money goes to the school.  Ds gets in a huff  each year because he doesn't get one of the treat bags we make for donation.

They are doing family portraits fundraiser there but don't know if we are doing there or at walmart.  We want to do a family portrait this year.  Never have done an offical one before.

I am staying out of the halloween candy so it should last until halloween lol!
