    Now you all are getting me to look at that mom when there was no power hardley during the war mom told me grandmother use to sew things on the threadle oma would do this once aweek because a single woman with two girls had to keep the dresses mended and she oma was a tayler at a factory after it got boomed out oma take in soldier clothes to mend and they paid her to do the mending. This was on a treadel now I also learn on that wow what memories those old machines can tell us all.

     I think it's the rhythmic motion and sound of the treadle that makes it soothing. Of course it not using electricity is also appealing.  Edey
