A store opened recently in my area. It is run by thte Mennonites, and it is just delightful. Much less expensive than any of the grocery store. Very quiet, subdued, soothing ;atmosphere, no lines, automatic checkouts bright lights, crowds.
Everuything is on wooden shelves, simply and nicely packaged. Produce - locak. Their home-frozen vegetables and fruits. Homemade bread, all baked goods, homemade jellies and jams, chutnies. An array of spices and herbs in large containers for almost nothing. Just the basics - not one single pre-packaged, commercial product, no advertising. And everything put up by hand.
I am doing all the shopping I can there in the future.
