I used to buy the rotisserie chickens from Walmart, but not anymore. They are burned and dried out now.....even when they are just put out in the deli. The other WMs probably have better rotisserie chickens, but I don't go out of my way to buy food. The WM chickens cost almost as much as the Food Lion Perdue rotisserie chicken, so I buy the better quality chicken. I freeze the carcass and I make chicken stock out of the carcasses.

I buy the rotisserie chicken by Perdue at Food Lion for $6.99. I spend $5.99 for it because I buy it on Friday when it is $1.00 cheaper. I doubt if I'd buy a rotisserie chicken if I had a family because of the price. I can get a number of meals for me out of one chicken.Inflation fighter

I have one of those rotisserie cookers, but I never find the chickens as cheap as the cooked ones.

The only reason I don't buy the rotisserie chickens at Harris Teeter is because I live closer to Food Lion & I like having a hot chicken. I keep forgetting that I could reheat the HT chicken by Perdue.

Perdue makes lemon pepper rotisserie chickens plus other flavors, but Food Lion only sells the plain rotisserie chickens.

I really like the lemon pepper ones best, but even the plain ones are so good!  I made the recipe chicken, but mine was still mostly steamed and didn't have that nice crust the 'boughten' ones have :-(

They mark the ones at Walmart down to $3.00 at the end of the evening, and a couple times, dd has brought one home.  But she says usually there's a line to get them and she doesn't bother.

Still looking for a way to make them closer to the retail ones...Liz.
