    No Spend Days - October 12 - 16th.

Okay No Spender Stetchers, another week ahead of us to exercise our rights to keep our money!  ;-)

I stocked up and so I should be pretty good for the next week and foresee no reason to buy anything other than pay bills!

    Let's do this thing!

I'm in!  I am low on groceries as I still haven't really shopped but don't have a lot of money left for groceries as I spent a chunk on a little party we had on Saturday!

No plans to buy anything this week except any necessary groceries, and I might need gas.

    Sounds good Jenn,

I just sold and old stereo / cd changer to a coworker for 20.00 and 3 burritos, he makes the best burritos!  One is a whole meal for both me and my DD, we split it.

I also put an old Casio keyboard on Craigslist this morning, might pull in a little extra for stamps and misc. this month.

I'm in too.  I did very well this weekend. Only out $15.00 for DS haircut which I didn't think he really needed yet but his baseball coach told him if he didn't get it cut by today he'd be running laps.  Grocery wise I'm good with the exception of cereal that I'm out of but I have other things we can eat for the next two weeks.  All the bills are paid until the 27th.  Which is good because I only get paid once a month on the 27th.  DH gets paid this Friday however we are putting my car in the shop and I suspect most of his check will go for that as well as oil changes and gas for his truck and DS's jeep.

    Happy saving...

Count me in even though I know I'll have at least 2 spend days during this time.  Today was not a no spend day.  I had to take DS#1 to get a new pair of tennis shoes.  We went and looked yesterday but he couldn't find anything in his size, so when I got home from volunteering at DS#2's school today we went to JCPenneys and he found a pair that he liked in his size and they were on sale.  This was a planned purchase so it want's like I didn't expect it.

We also needed to paint the hall ceiling where DH installed a new attic access door on Saturday.  And the bathroom ceiling also needed painting where we installed a new fan and light fixture back at the beginning of the summer.  Cost for these two projects was $0.  DH had both primer and ceiling paint in the garage so no money out on that and the ceiling's look much better now.

DMC Yes, it was great to have things on hand to complete a project instead of spending money.  The shoes were a great find but DS#1 found an even better one.  He told me on the way home Friday that he had lost one of his hoodies and was looking to replace it while he was home.  So while at JCPenneys I suggested we check to see what they had.  He found one he really liked that is heavier than a regular hoodie.  Regular cost was $55.00 which I thought was a little steep for a hoodie. Then he said "look mama this jacket is on sale for $19.99 and that's a really good deal so I'm going to get it because I need it".  I was so proud of him for being on the look our for a sale when he needs something.  We've been really frugal his whole life and now I know that he really was listening when I tried to teach him about shopping around and looking for the best possible price when you need to purchase something.

Hope my kids learn these lessons too!  I'm trying to teach them from the getgo-want them to learn the things I didn't!

Little money out today-$5.  $3 for car entry to the park where the zoo is and $2 for popcorn for the kids to share.  Not too bad!

My kids need to learn, a long process.   bought a bunch of stuff to value village and told ds again that to get new toys, you need to get rid of old toys. at least time he kinda got it!

kinda  a spendy day. didn't go to safeway, just choices for lettuce, bananas, and a couple other things 7.17 out.   bought choc cover almonds and caramel swirls $6 out from my friends granddaughter and she is buying 2 boxes of choc mint girl guide cookies $8 so kinda just a support thing.

spent 10.50 on takeout pizza for dinner too.  my excuse is the kitchen was a bit of mess from the dh working on the cupboards lol.
