I LOVE her house in the Hamptons!  It's AWESOME.  What a dream to live someplace like that.

I have all her books, mostly have gotten them for Christmas/birthday gifts.  I love the pictures!

Those crackers turned out pretty good with the dried thyme.  Not the kind of thing you can eat a ton of cause they are rich.  But a great little snack with a glass of wine or cocktail!

Jenny  Thanks for the cracker recipe.  They sound so good.

Today has been a super stretchy day for me (for a change).  DH told me earlier in the week that the front brakes on the Suburban had started sqeeking and he would need to check them out this morning.  So, after breakfast he went out in the back yard took the front wheels off and looked at the brake pads.  The one on the drivers side had a chip out of the top.  I looked through my files and found the receipt where he purchased the brake pads back in 2005.  They had a life time warrenty on them.  He took them back to the auto parts store and they gave him 2 new sets for FREE!  So, new brakes on the front of our Suburban and they only cost the gas to drive to/from the auto parts store and DH's time to take them off and replace them.  WOOHOO.

    that is good news shellia!

not a no spend day but at least not really wasteful.   had to get gas $50 there.   then $36 at value village, stopped in as whim and found books and videos for xmas plus pokemon dvds for the kids.  then spent $35 for vitamins, cold meds, bread and a few other things.

still have to go get some fresh fruit etc tomorrow.

    That's awesome shellia!!

I did GREAT today if I do say so myself.  I know the challenge doesn't technically start until Monday but I am doing my best.

Today after DS soccer game, it was noon and just the time when I really wanted to just grab lunch from somewhere instead of coming home to figure it out.  DH said it was up to me.  Let me tell you, I was thinking "Let's just grab Subway" but in the end I told DH "NO!  Just take us home!!  I'll figure it out once we are there, I know we have food."  When it's a meal time and we are out I suddenly blank on what we have and it just seems easier to grab something out.  So came home, found plenty to eat and saved us about $15.  Proud of myself.

Was lazy and didn't run my errands so no spending today and it's 5:23pm!  But, I'm about to order DD's halloween costume and a gift for nephew online so I will actually spend some money.  And I have successfully talked myself out of takeout for tonight too-another $25 savings!

Those takeout decisions are what get me every weekend-often small amounts here and there but they add up!  Feeling pretty good right now.

OK-turns out today is a no spender after all!  The items I was planning to buy online aren't what I want so will go to the shops tomorrow.

Two no spends in a row!  I guess I AM starting early!

Ok it's official Day 1 of the No Spend - although I see some folks did great this weekend.   We spent on Saturday but not yesterday (ok I bought the newspaper yesterday but it's for the coupons).

I won't spend today - lunches were brought from home, DS has storytime and I have no stores to go to.   Car has gas too so I'm good.   Tomorrow might be a challenge as I'm going to the Dr and dropping DS off at my parents.   The Dr's office is near all the stores - the mall - Target, yikes!!!   And my appointment is at 1130 which puts me out and about at lunchtime.    So I need to make a plan to pack lunch or snacks and put the blinders on when i drive by the stores.

    Good morning all,

Just remember the thread and stay away from the stores!

I am so glad today is here.  I am beginning to get weak when I spend money... thinking of the bills and the craziness!

    Okay, here we go!

Let's rock this week and keep the money in the bank for bills!

Hey everyone. Sunday was a good no spend day.  Only money out was for 2 newspapers and gas to/from church.

I thought today was going to be a no spend day, but it turns out that it won't be.  DH told me before he left for class this morning that he needs to replace a tire on his suburban.  He will go by the used tire place and see what they have this afternoon.  Not sure how much that will be but it is something that can't wait.  So I will have money out for that today but that will be the only money out today.

Keep up the good work everyone.

Should be a no spend here, except that DH has a script that the Dr. has to approve...other than that, I'm in.  And as much money as I spent this weekend, I should not have to buy anything, anytime soon....
