    Re: What was for Supper?

My DS has been asking for IHOP but I told him that wasn't in the budget but I'd make him breakfast for supper last night.  Well, after I stopped to vote on my way home from work and then ran into Walgreens to pick up a prescription it was 6:30 when I walked in the door.  Too late to fry bacon so we ended up having leftover sloppy joes and baked beans.  He asked me this morning if we could have breakfast tonight.  Looks like I'll be fixing bacon, waffles and eggs tonight.

My SIL flies in from Anchorage tonight for a visit so MIL is taking everyone out to eat tomorrow night at a fancy reservation only restaurant. My group isn't real fond of their food but fortunately I'm not paying for it.  We couldn't afford it if we had to pay for it.  She took a group of us there for Christmas Eve last year and her bill came to $600.00.  I told DH that something is seriously wrong when the meal cost more than our house payment.

Tuesday's supper was chicken casserole at home because my blood sugar went too low for me to drive. I was supposed to eat steak at Outback.

This is why I keep things like Perdue Shortcuts in the house. I am going to start keeping those Tyson & Hormel meats (roast beef, etc.) in the meat counter for quick meals.

I stopped at Wendy's on my way to the beauty shop Wednesday for lunch. I am so glad that I pass fast food on the way there.

    Not sure about Wednesday's supper.

My youngest son brought a cookbook by Emeril Lagasse home from school on Monday and has been asking me if we could make something from it.  He watches Emeril on tv pretty often and is interested in cooking, so I said we could.  I let him pick out something for dinner yesterday and he chose shrimp scampi.  So we had that and peas for dinner last night.  Not the cheapest meal I've made but ok for a treat every once in a while.

Wednesday 's supper was Texas Steakhouse's 12 oz. ribeye steak, a Coke, a salad, a loaded baked potato, 1/2 order of onion petals, and a free dessert.

Thursday my supper cost me $2.66 for a Coke & tax. Red Robin gave me a FREE  chili burger platter & hot fudge sundae.
