With banks tighting up on credit a loan would almost be impossible unless it was a home equity loan. I started paying anything extra I had five dollars ten etc. It takes a long time to pay off credit cards you didn't charge them up overnight and you can't pay them off that way either. Patience is key here, I had 40000 in cc debt at one time and not a lot of extra money to pay towards debt, 4 years later down to 8000 just by paying what I could. Each time one cc was payed off I put that amount towards the next one and now I'm up to 600 a month extra and should be debt free in July 2010.

    ROLL TIDE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What helped me was sitting down and writing out our income and expenses, no cheating here.  Once you have it in writing it is a real eye opener and will also give you a starting point.

Yep, and write it down in ink.  Or as I do type it up!!!
