Re: Thursday September 17 $$$ Stretching

I am getting my hair done on Friday.

I went to the Care Plan meeting for Mom at the nursing home. I will have to sign permission for it, but I agreed that Mom could have shots for both types of flu. I found out that Mom has a whole lot of health issues.

It is not my imagination......Mom is getting worse and it isn't just the dementia. Mom was excited to see me.

Okay....it's official. It would be too dangerous if I brought needlepoint or knitting for Mom to work on. Mom could hurt herself badly.

I took Mom her new fleece jackets so that she'd be able to keep warm. I wanted to get her sweaters, but the laundry would destroy them.

I called the nursing home & they will probably send me the weekly menus so I can plan on eating with Mom in between holiday meals that are free. I think the meals will set me back $4.00 or $5.00, which is reasonable. I could eat with Mom once every 10 days if I saw food I liked.

I took the oil to the church.

I went to Food Lion. Aurora is happy. I bought food for her and a bag of Fresh Step. I changed her litter box after I got home from the biscuits class. I wish that you could've seen how happy that little cat was !

I went to the biscuits class. I saw people I knew. I bought the imported cheese I adore. I will buy it for myself once a month. Next month we're having a soups class. Most of the people in tonight's class will be there.

Oh & I sat next to someone I used to know. She was actually friendly to me ! When I knew her we were not really friends. She used to go to my church. Now she's a member of the church where I'll be attending.

Today should be pretty frugal since I am not leaving the house. Trying to get ideas on arranging my pantry top shelf. I will be rearranging my kitchen a bit since I have been flaring up quite a bit lately and want to make things more accessible.  Will be interested in seeing what I accomplish today. Pain woke me out of 2mg of melatonin... at 11:30pm. I do have 2 pain pills in me, but not tired enough to sleep.

Will do beef tenderloins, corn on cob, and salad for a meal (sometime today).

Had a nice phone call from my friend today... who's spending 11 days in Hawaii!  (The one who just had a baby <a month ago). She said that they did charge the vacation, but it was an awesome deal. (and I agree!) She's trying to make this a yearly thing, and so far it has been. First time was her honeymoon, then they went when child #1 was just over a month old, and now.

Morning. Work two jobs today, and it's payday at one of them. Dh's payday today as well which is always a happy day, lol. I have been assigned an article to write ( small, low paying one that will pay quickly) so that will be some extra income in the next two weeks. Yesterday, I stopped at the store to buy vinegar, ammonia, and generic oxy-clean type stuff, plus whole wheat flour for a total of $13. I was happy with the total cost and the vinegar and ammonia will get a lot of cleaning done before winter hits. I ended up not needed the calculator that I posted about yesterday because DH had one I could use - I needed a hand held one for the civil service exam I am taking on Saturday - so that saved us about $6 - 12 since Staples has or used to have a Staples brand not-too small calculator. I used to have one - only problem was that it was battery operated and there was no way to replace the battery so once it died the calculator was kaput...weird, right? Gotta get going! peace.

If the weather holds out today I'll start working on painting the back sections of the fence maybe by hand maybe with the paint gun and work my way forward. If it starts raining then I'll come inside and relax letting dh worry about the painting projects over the weekend. I've no clue what supper will be maybe something pork or hot dogs, I'll think about it later.

Not going anywhere at all, so today should be very stretchy. No money out. Will spend the day doing laundry, continuing to sort out DH's side of our closet, and possibly reorganising the linen closet--at least the two bottom shelves, which hold my stockpile of shampoos/deodorants/toothpaste/etc. I need to see what I've got plenty of and what I'm short on.

Supper will be a sort of 'clear out the leftover' deal, with a salad alongside to fill in around the edges.

Dear All, I fell again yesterday.  It was in the closet, & I tripppppped.   The scary part is that when I tried to get up there was nothign to hold onto except the dresser AND IT STARTED TO TIP OVER.  I finally was able to get up in ooone piece, but I was sure worried there!

Ana, the dog Trainer, talked with other Service Dog Trainers, & is concerned that I should get a traditional Service Dog breed (German Shepherd, Golden, or Lab) rather than a Poodle.  She also wants to work on an hourly basis.  Lots of stress.  That's why I fell, I always get dissoociated under stress, & it makes me fall.  I was irritable & I hurt sooomeone's feelings deeply, although, thank G-d, I was able to have her understand my apology when I made a phone call, I believe.

I'll ssee my personal physician, Peter, today, & Ana will be with us.

The weather here has been wonderful for several weeks with the exception of one thing - no rain. It hasn't rained here in 4 weeks. It's getting very dry. There was rain forecasted last weekend, but we didn't get a drop. Now they're teasing us with the chance for some rain in the next few days. We'll see. I've been watering the landscaping to keep it alive.

Should be stretchy again today. No planned money out. Breakfast was eggs, a muffin and half a banana. Lunch is a sandwich, salad and grapes. Dinner will be pork chops and something.

I hope everyone has a good day.

Re: Thursday September 17 $$$ Stretching

Hey everyone.  As Dixie said it is raining here in central NC today.  We haven't had a lot of rain here for a while.  I know that up where Gayla lives they have had a lot of rain but  not here in the central part where I live.  So a rainy day is a really good thing.  Should be a stretchy day here.  I do have to register DH for a scout event but that is a planned expense that I'll do online later this afternoon.  I have already vacuumed 1/2 my house and I'll finish the rest when I get off the computer.  I've already washed 2 loads of laundry and have one more to do.  They will all have to go in the dryer because of the rain.  Need to work on my budget for the last 2 weeks of September and file some paperwork.  Not sure what else I'll get done today since I have a really bad headache and all I want to do is go to bed for a while.

All meals will be from home today.  Breakfast was scrambled eggs, bacon, toast and watermelon.  DS#2 will have lunch at school.  DH & I will have a baked potatoe and salad.  Supper will be a chicken, rice & black bean cassarole that I've been wanting to try for a while. Not sure what else we will have but I will figure out something.  Since it is cooler today I think I'll bake something later this afternoon too.

    Have a great day everyone.

    Shellia
