I think it looks good!  I love lima beans and the mixed veggies could be put into a soup if necessary.

I doubt anyone will eat the chicken nuggets; I burnt everybody out on those when the kids were little.  The ham steak looks interesting - it would make a good breakfast meal.  And we loved the stif-fry last time, hope this one's similar.

The produce box is interesting - I like the way they change it up. Love the fresh limes and fresh garlic.  The pineapple has always been good as well and we love pears.

We've just about decided against the Thanksgiving box - I make most of that from scratch and I'm almost sure I can beat the price.  Unless I buy one for a family I think might appreciate it, but I won't get one for us this time...Liz.

    The pineapple

My family is wanting a sweet and sour chicken I make using pineapple. They will be excited to see more fresh pineapple for it.

I am looking forward to a more restful day without a lot of foods from scratch as ordered by my husband, lol. I can't beat the AF price on heatable or packaged items.

I make ahead and freeze as much as possible of our holiday foods, but by all means, if hubby says to buy the package and relax a bit....then do it! Yes

And the sweet-sour chicken, mmm!  Do you use the A/F breaded chicken for that?  Liz

That was a from scratch meal. I got the recipe online, let me see if I can hunt down the url for you.

I think Its the name lima beans thats so off putting to the family

In the South, they call them "butter beans." Maybe that makes them more appealling? Wink

I just ordered one signature box this time, no specials. Since we got an upright freezer, I can take better stock of what I've got, and it seems I'm up to my neck in veggies! I'm still using the garlic from the last time they had it in the produce box.

I still haven't used the fish sticks from the last time they were in the AF boxes, so I will be up to my "gills" in fish! LOL

I did order my Thanksgiving box, though.

The coupon code "SEPTSIG5" worked for the October boxes for online ordering. Saved 5% off of each signature box. It even worked for the Thanksgiving box. Every little bit helps!

Ewww, the fish sticks.  I won't welcome more of those either.  They were mostly breading with a thin gray stripe down the center that was the fish, I suppose.  I'm going to try to give the second bag away - I have to admit I threw away the bag I had opened.  Liz.

The fish sticks tasted ok, but were mostly the breading.  Not something I look forward to either.  We have a 2nd bag from last month and can eat them, but just not thrilled about getting more in Oct.  So since Sept's online ordering deadline was extended, I ordered another Sept. box and will get just 1 sig. box in Oct and the chicken special.  Granted the chicken special box is all processed meat, but we like chicken patties, chunks, tenders, etc., and that will save us from $25 to $30 on what we would pay for 10 lbs. of breaded chicken stuff in the stores.

I have been reading these entries for a long time and wished they were in my area. I have just moved into an area where AF is available and ordered for the first time for Sept. I too am suprised that there are so many processed foods for October. I can tell you that we don't like chicken nuggets much either but when we have gotten them in the past I will cook them, cut them up and throw them over a salad. Even DH loves them that way....throw some honey mustard over it and it is all good!! It even sneaks some veggies in on the kids.

I have ordered 2 holiday boxes but may get another to freeze for New Years.

I admit there is a little more process food in this box. But I will say that October looks better then September. I am looking forward to see what desert comes with this box.
