so the pack with two steaks is enough for a family.

If I wasn't feeding a teen eating machine, it wouldn't be bad, lol! I could actually make some of the packs of steak work with three for us, depending on the steak sizes.

I was thinking of the frozen entrees..lasagna is more just salad and garlic bread sides.

My typical side dishes for the lasagna entrees are garlic gread, green beans and salad.

First you might want to get hold of your host site and tell them about the milk. We never had any floaters in our. My husband rather have Borden's over Parmalat brand. Border has a better taste. He has no problem of bitter taste either. When we get the Parmalat brand it becomes cat's milk. The first time we got shelf stable milk it was whole milk. All I can say is my husband was set for a few days.

as anyone else had this issue before with the shelf stable milk?

My daughter  likes the milk. She is a bit sensitive to regular milk but has not issues with shelf stable.

I don't think I have seen a lot of pieces floating around in it. It usually looks like normal milk though I'll say I don't think it tastes the same or as good.

I have had some of the aseptic milk have small flakes in it, too.  They're usually at the bottom, when we get to the end of the milk.  I found shaking it well before opening and before each use helps.  I haven't experienced any bad taste, but no one here drinks milk straight up anymore and I only use the boxed milk for cooking and baking.  But your batch sounds off (especially since even the cats won't have it!).  I definitely think I'd call and have it replaced...Liz.

Thanks for the responses. I have emailed my host site and will wait to hear back from them. I guess my dogs will be having milk the rest of the week. I am glad we tasted it before I put it on my cereal! Had that happen once before with spoiled milk. Not a nice surprise in the morning. The milk was the only item we have not been satisfied with so generally I am quite pleased with my AF purchases. Had the pineapple for lunch yesterday - Yum! Boiled up some of the chicken thighs last night so tonight we can have chicken tacos or chicken soup.

I am lucky that none of our students have been eating machines.   don't know why because dh and I certainly were at that age!   but maybe we got more exercise. the only exercise our student gets is walking 3blks to school and back!

These steaks are huge though. don't know why but not complaining for the price.    I don't like green beans if can taste them so they don't show up on our menu since I am the cook lol.  maybe I will grow some next year for the kids.  fresh isn't so bad.

    Re: october angel food

Hubby has the crockpot going today with a fresh venison roast with the white potatoes, carrots, onions, fresh garlic, and a lime from our October produce box. Also some mushrooms from the store. The house smells good and I am happy not to have to cook after working all day. I should have told him to throw in some of the cabbage but I guess I will use the leftovers to make soup.  The rest of the carrots and green peppers went in a veggie tray for munching. I had the pineapple and cantaloupe for work lunches. They were both small but very good. The tangerines have been sort of hit and miss, a few really tasty ones and a few bad ones. Hubby has been eating the pears since I am not a fan. What to do with 3 more limes? Maybe a dessert.

Also the breaded chicken special box has been very good so far. The tenders were awesome, and we had the breaded frying pieces baked in the oven last night. Took quite awhile to bake but were tasty.

RBV, I found a lime chicken recipe over the weekend I'm going to try if you'd like the recipe.  Or you can always do what dh does with the limes and make cherry limeades...Liz.

Sure, would love the recipe. Thanks! Maybe everyone on here with the produce box needs something to use limes for. :)

I posted it over in Recipes.  It's basically just a marinade, but it sounds good!  Liz.
