I'm Thinking of Giving Aurora a Razor Cut on Her Fur

We found enough loose fur to make almost 2 Auroras ! Grrr...... I am so tempted to shave the Pampered Princess !

The thing that gets me is that I comb & brush her daily.

No wonder Dr. Skinny was laughing at my last office visit when I showed her Aurora's picture on my cell phone.

I would never do anything to harm Aurora. I just get tired of all the loose long fur she sheds.

Fur everywhere is just part of having that adorable, lovable creature. I have two so mine is twice as bad, I just give them a hug and vacuum up the hair.

Aurora's fur is silky soft. She finally has stopped getting mats in it. Earlier in the summer she had mats in it in spite of my combing her.

My German Shepherd Sam shed a lot also.

Sable sheds like there's no tomorrow - I used a slicker brush and comb for years, but it didn't do enough; after using one at PetCo, I finally broke down and bought a furminator (http://www.furminator.com/).  It wasn't cheap - Sable weighs over 80 pounds and the large one for big dogs was $60 - but it's paid itself back already in the time I save, because I can shed his whole coat with it in about 10 minutes instead of 30, the clean-up afterwards is easier, and he likes it better, so he's less likely to try to walk off in the middle.  There are some off-brands that look similar at PetCo - whether they work the same or not I'm not sure, but the price difference was minimal, so I bought the name brand version.  The one for cats is about $25, I think.

PetCo is near Trader Joe's. I am meeting my friend for lunch on Thursday at Texas Steakhouse. I could go there after lunch.

I really wouldn't shave Aurora when we're getting ready to start having cooler temperatures.

I just checked out the Furminator -- too stinkin' cool!!!  It's $20.20 on amazon.com.
