    scrap gold

I am forever picking up beads and jewelry clasps that are laying around. On the floors at schools, parking lots etc. Yesterday hubby and I were talking about how big my collection of junk was. Tons of one earing or halfs of bracelets. So I decided to go down to a store that buys scrap gold. It turns out that alot of what I had was really gold. After testing and weighing it I left with $230! From junk that no one else had ever bothered to pick up!

That's VERY awesome!  Good for you.  Next time you see me, I won't see you -- I'll be looking at the ground and hopefully following your example.

One man's trash is another man' treasure.  Congrats, what a nice surprise!

Surprise That's amazing!! I have a heavy gold man's bracelet that I found years ago at the mall. The clasp was broken, which is why it was lost, I suppose. I reported the loss to mall management, but no one claimed it so I just kept it. I've often wondered how much it's worth. It's at least 18k gold, might be 22k. I guess after reading your story, I should get the thing looked at and find out how much I could get for it! Confused
