September EBT/Food Stamps/SNAP, Etc.
I thought I would start this months thread. Balance going into the store was $32.41 (9/1) - 2 loaves of bread (nature's pride) $1.48 each
then yesterday going into Walmar to get things to help me feel better:
- 96oz orange juice w/ pulp $5.78
- 2 bags of waffle fries $1.78ea
- king size m&m's $1.08
- tony's pizza $2.50
I'm now down to $16.40 until 9.13 (weekends I'm not sure when really). I'm set though on food in the house!

Wisconsin, from what I've seen, will either do the business day before or after the date... so with the holiday, it should be interesting. Anyway, I am set for food. No worries.

Re: September EBT/Food Stamps/SNAP, Etc.
So much for my idea of trying to save $300 in case I don't get reupped, we are down to $179 until the 13th. Needless to say, went on a few extra shopping trips, dh has bought food, there was a birthday cake with 21 oz of chocolate in, and today for dd's 13th birthday party went and got things for her party- chocolate fondue ingredients with strawberries, bananas, pound cake, peanut butter cookies, also potato chips, cheese chips, and root beer. Eggs for quiche for the girls in the morning. Like LL, I have lots of food in the house. The only issue will be if I don't get re-upped.

Well, then, let's ask mad4colors to look up the policy on when SNAP/Food Stamps should be credited! Love in Him, Deb

Re: September EBT/Food Stamps/SNAP, Etc.
Sounds like some good healthy food, Deb. I think I only spent around $10 this weekend, on milk and bread, and lemon juice for canning, in two trips for $4 and $6. I have $169 on the card until the 13th. I added to my pantry by canning my 25 pounds of tomatoes into 7 quarts of plain tomatoes, and 4 quarts of pizza sauce. We have some left to use, about 10 tomatoes. I did not add extra lemon juice to the pizza sauce, cooked it down for about 90 minutes, than 35 minutes in a hot water bath, I think it should be good. Any advice is appreciated, I canned spaghetti sauce last year and didn't add lemon juice, but notice this year the canning websites seem to have lengthened cooking times and added lemon juice to many of the recipes.

Re: September EBT/Food Stamps/SNAP, Etc.
Dear Tracy & All, My 2 cherry tomato plants that I purchased with SNAP/Food Stamps EBT have 2 ripening tomatoes -- all teh rest are still green. Not too many, but thrillling nonetheless. I NEVER thoguht I could grow anyting in that North window! My basil, chives, & sage also did well. I had to give up on thyme, parsley, & cilantro. My spearmint has proliferated! I'm a happy camper. Love in Him, Deb
