I agree about the towels. What is the point of doing more laundry than you have to?:  As she said, you are drying off your clean body!  But the sheet thing??  Sorry...no can do!

Reluctant to switch around bed sheets, though. Personal preference and squeemish about putting my head where my possibly dirty feet have been, LOL. But good idea for other things!

Very good point, but my feet are clean/clean when I tuck into bed.

I bathe right before going to bed.  All is clean, so I don't mind using the towel a few more times.  I use the large bath sheets, which take up a lot of space in the washer.  I never thought of switching the sheet direction.  It's not a bad idea.  Feet are clean and pillows, whose cases I've always washed weekly (along with sheets), would be on top of where the feet part would be.  I may try this.

Why, dear Thyme to Save, I never thought of turnign the bottom sheet top to bottoom to be able to wash it just every other week!  What a good idea!  Thanks!  Yours in Him, Deb

Dear ALl, Water is a precioius commodity here in CA, even when we aren't on rationing I try hard to conserve.  The main thing that I do is to wsah at the sink all but one or 2 times a week; my hair doesn't need washing more often --it's very dry, & I get just as clean with the expenditure of MUCH less waat er.  This also means that I can use towels all week long as they don't get wet from sink-washiing.  I do obviously use wshcloths only once.  Yours in Hiiim, Deb

I take my showers in the morning so my feet are not as "fresh* as I would like when I finally drop.  Also, I have a DD and two cats.  I cannot wait for my new clean sheets.  Switching them just seems too over the top for me and I just love clean sheets.  I already sometimes go two weeks and that is way to long to have to wait for the Clean Sheet Yumminess!!!

Deb, glad to help in any way. There are several tricks I have read, but first of all, we must be careful about spreading staph, which is a genuine problem that physicians warn about and tell us to wash all bed linens in hot water. One piece of advice it to change pillowcases daily.

For anyone who sleeps alone and in a double bed, one can switch sides of the bed to sleep on to prolong need for washing sheets, if there is no illness.

I would be sure to take care that feet are totally clean before considering switching sheets from top to bottom for an extra week's use.

    Re: The Half Rule

Dear Thyme to Save, Personallly, I wash everything in hot waateer, as teh gas heater is paid for by the building so I haave no motivation to use cold water AND I want to get all teh germs, viruses & potential bedbugs killed solid.

I don't use a pillow any longer, because the one I had became so lumpy after I had to wash & dry it weekly when the bedbugs were first being eradicated.  I find that I can sleep fine w/o one.   I jussst keep a large handkerchief on the bottmo sheet to catch saliva, as I have a medications side effect.

I wear pantyhose all day, & slipper-socks at ngiht, so I think that I'd be safe tuning the bottom sheet end-to-end.

Thanks again!  Love in Him, Deb
