Re: New Dollar Stretcher Poll: Shopping Style

I'm a #1. Always go in with a list (grocery store) and rarely make impulse buys unless it's something on sale that I know that I was going to buy in the future anyway. As for malls/department stores, I only go in when I have a specific purchase in mind. DW is pretty much the same way, but she is more susceptible to impulse buys at the grocery store.

I voted for #3, but I spend very little ($15-20 a month maybe) without really thinking it through. I enjoy window shopping & often feel guilty when I buy something. Like I went into Dollar Tree about 2 weeks ago & spent $6-7. I get home & regret spending $2 on 2 rolls of Fall ribbon for decorating. How silly is that? I mean its $2, but did I really need it.

Re: New Dollar Stretcher Poll: Shopping Style

Over the past several months my shopping habits have been out of control.  I strongly feel the need to pull them back in and have set a goal for September to let go of my depression, cook at home even if I don't feel like it, and to get my life back in order.  I have been sad for way to long and I can see that it is affecting my family and our finances.  This has made me take a look at our budget and find ways to get back on track.

I must confess I am a 3, I will buy something I don't absolutely need for fun. Purchases I have made this summer- perfume, books at a book sale $5 for a bag for the Cancer Society-one bag, going to A and W, and going to the State Fair. None necessary, all fun.
