Re: 'Fess up - what fun things would you really like to get in your Christmas stocking?

Mine is going to sound horribly selfish. I would love to have a piece of paper that says my ankle injuries could be completely repaired by surgery and I was going to have it done. After the surgery I'd be painfree and I'd be able to wear pretty shoes again plus I could walk normally.

I'd also love it if someone included me in their holiday plans. I really miss the way holidays were special when it was the 4 of us. Mom made it special even without a lot of money.

I'm trying to start new traditions, etc., about holidays by myself but  I get very blue at times. It's rough being excluded from family gatherings by relatives who hate me.

Some of my local friends have told me that I'd be welcome at their homes. That means a lot to me.

If I have toys in my stocking for Aurora, she will enjoy them and it'll be fun to watch her play like a kitten.

    timzagain:
    instructions for making friendship bracelets

does anyone remember the bracelets or just a long friendship rope that was made from the wrappers you took off a stick of gum.  you folded them {i completely forget how to do it] and added to the rope to see how long you could make it and all your friends added to it or you could make a necklace or bracelet and wear it.  i guess it would probably be like the leather things kids make today and wear.  only back [in the day] it was a cheap version.

Not sure how silly these are, but here's my list:

iPod already loaded w/50 or so songs (I'm not good w/computer tech stuff). You did say forget being frugal! Last week I saw one for $45 that holds 200 songs, but I don't know enough about them to know if it was a good one.

A big box of crayons & a cool coloring book (butterflies, flowers or something that would use lots of color). I've never had one of those giant boxes w/the sharpner!

A cool pair of knitted gloves or mittens (electric blue or something), a neat key ring, a super bouncey ball, a matchbox car like my 1st car (how cool would that be)!

Homemade coupons for activities like an afternoon antiquing with a friend, a baking/cooking lesson & a craft lesson with a friend or family member. I remember see the lessons idea for kids, but I'd love it. Even better if I could choose the recipe or craft to be made!

I could list a bunch more (most aren't silly like Burt's Bees stuff, cool lip gloss, lottery tickets). I just see so many cool suggestions that I'd love, it's easy to get carried away! Almost forgot my candy... smarties, blow pops or old fashion stick candy.

I would like to get a gift certificate to a nail salon to get my nails professionally done even though I can do my own nails it would be nice just to have someone else do them for a change. As far as candy goes I will stick with the foil wrapped hershey's kisses

handheld video game -- tetris or simon

The whole point of turkey is to get to the pie.

I forgot about the handheld video games - Tetris is one of my favourite games, but Scrabble is at the top of my list!  I have Scrabble installed on every computer in the house, but a handheld version would be great for travel and for whiling away the time while I wait for DD to finish her swim workouts etc!   I should definitely drop a hint to Santa!

    Virginia:

I'm sorry to hear about your family; I'd include you in my celebration this year, if I could. (Unfortunately, since I live in Arizona, I don't think that's going to fly. :(

Anyways .... fun things I'd like in my stocking (tongue FIRMLY in cheek):

    1. Aurora! She's a beautiful kitty! (at least, I think that's her in Virginia's avatar)
    2. A $1000.00 gift card to the local grocery store
    3. A check for a million dollars and the title to a new car
    4. Candy cigarettes (might help me break that nasty habit -- which I've been trying to do for 10 years)
    5. A complete beading set, with jewelry findings and cool tools galore (yes, I used to make jewelry)
    6. A string of jalapeno-and-sombrero Christmas lights
    7. A Faberge egg (doesn't have to be genuine!)

Ah, the possibilities ... and daydreams ....
