    Prayer Circle

At the request of LateNightLeader (Tracy), lets us believers start a prayer circle.  I'll add to my Prayers Journal anything that you bring to this thread (except of course things that are unG-dly from non-believers).  And I'm sure that you'll add to your prayers what we all bring up. For me, my Austerity Budget (rent 155% of what it had been) starts up on 9/1 -- plesae pray that I can live within it gracefully.  TIA.

Deb will pray for your finances. He owns the cattle on a thousand hills! What is your vision for this thread? To just share prayer needs and commit to praying or to actually write out the prayers? Babs

    Re: Prayer Circle

I find that sometimes a person thinks that she needs one thing, but it is the will of the L-rd that the outcome is different than she anticipated, yet surely in & of itself, a blessing.  Therefore, I am uncomfortable writing in my Prayer Journal the precise words that the person desired; I paraphrse a little to give Hashem (G-) the needed supplication in my own words.  Does that sound justifiable?

And, thanks for the comforting quote.  And your prayers!

Is there anything that you want me to pray for?

    Yours in thrift, Deb

    Re: Prayer Circle

Tracy, I am sorry I have not seen this thread.

With my Father's upcoming surgery, work on my parents' house will be on hold for a bit. It's been slow going as well which means there is still much to do. Then my parents found out the well pump on their new property isn't working so money has to be put towards that to prepare for a new home there. This allows us to put housing on hold again for ourselves while my husband works out a longer term plan and we put ourselves back in gear financially.

We are poking around at ideas but until we know what is in store for long term work, we don't want to take on any notes/rental payments. This is also due to the fact that we are giving thought to broadening the area we look in for housing, this depends a lot on where or how he works.

Brandy, may the L-rd guide you & your husband well in your on-going housing search.

I want tot ell you what I am now praying for yoou, & you should tell us whether his is appropriate:

The part about the permanent housing I changed from spring to summer to autumn & now to winter :)

"As for Brandy, that she be able to move into a real home by winter.  That her husband get  a well-paying job or two.  And, for all in her town, still without permanent hosuing due to Hurricnes Katrina & Rita, blessings.  That You give Brandy the strength to keep moving forwrd.  May her family & she make the right choices in all their efforts regarding work, housing, their family, & even her marrige.  That her husband be safe in his work on the waters."

    Re: Prayer Circle

Deb, I don't think it's necessary to tack a timetable on the housing prayer. God will open a door when it is the right time. I am a planner by nature, I like having some idea of what I am working towards. Some of the positive phrases and commentary I have shared are my own personal reminders or mantras to keep me balanced between finding peace in the now and enjoying this moment and planning.

The town we are in doesn't offer much by way of jobs. My husband's skills fetch higher wages in the surrounding areas. Since he hasn't settled on a firm plan and is looking at work options in cities a little farther away, he could end up getting a good offer with up to a two and half hour drive from where we currently live. If we have settled into a home or worse, locked into one with a lease or mortgage then he has to limit his options to something closer to the home or with a high enough pay to cover expensive fuel costs and time on the road getting there and back. If we stay right here then he can look around more and consider moving closer to the job rather than factor in fuel for a long commute. We will also have more saved for a move, down payment/deposits, furniture, ect.

It's not easy but I think we are better off here until he has a long term job.
