opposition to the concept of suppliments, no. Many come in gelatin capsules and gelatin is an animal byproduct. I don't use gel caps. There are vegetarian caps, or V caps.

One form of vitamin D is animal sourced, too, from lanolin in wool. Now, if she eats milk or eggs, lanolin will probably not be an issue, but new veggies can be inconsistent. I still am, 29 years later.

Please, please, please, don't fixate on how much she eats unless you see continuing weightloss or lethargy. I get it all the time from well-meaning friends.

Thanks again, thats why I appreciate asking you questions and not her as I do not want her to feel like I am disagreeing with her decisions I just want to make sure she is doing it safely. I will get her the supplements and not fret with the amount she eats. Or I will sure try LOL

Dear Happy, Go to www.vrg.org for lots & lots of info on "vegan" diets, which is what your daughter undertakes IMHO.  It's the Vegetarian Resoruc Group.  I'm not vegan, but I've subscribed to tehir Journal for many, many years as all of their recipes are necessarily Kosher pareve (neither meat nor milk).  Yours in Hiim, Deb

veg is simple once you have the basics down. Vegetarian Resource Group is VERY good.

I also like vegsandiego.com and the vegan on a budget section.

Being veg really helps in kashering, I think. I know how much work the synagogue kitchen is.

here's a link to the small kitchen:

Yes, Truepeacenik, You have half or less the trouble cleaning/Kashering you rkitchen for Pesach/Passover than do folks with bigger kitchens.  MY kitchen is bigger than yours, & I live in a (large) Studio apt!  Love iiin Hiim, Deb

So most of the year I'll wish for a kitchen island, and at Pesach, I'll be grateful! LOL

I'm thinking about something on wheels. We'll see, with that closet as pantry,  what I can do.

Dear Truepeacenik, Please understand that I mean no offense, but you mostly seem to be talking here about the size of your kitchen, not Kashruth, so it may be better to keep talking about that on the other threaad,, & let this one go -- if it's OK with you -- thanks for your understanding, I mean no harm!  Love in Hiim, Deb
