School Supplies * sales * advice needed

Okay, I am a bit torn.  Should I wait to buy supplies until next month and take it out of descrsionary, or should I buy this weekend when they are drop dead cheap and just take it out in advance.  I can do that.

I am worried that if I don't go to Walgreens and Staples I will miss out on those SUPER deals!

What do you think, will there be more deals like this weekend for school supplies?

I think if you can afford it this week go for it. You'll not get better prices.

The sales are just starting, I am sure the common items will be on sale repeatedly at these stores and at others. If you have the funds on hand however to be sure you get some good deals then go for it. BUT don't end up throwing yourself off track for this. Next month, spend less since you planned for the school purchases then.

I went and I got DD all she needs.  I don't think you can beat 9cent highlighters and 9 cent folders.  PIcked up all she will need so that is done.

Spent a few extra bucks on some things I found at Walgreens for xmas stocking too.  Half price junk!

Those prices won't be beat. It's possible that Walgreens will repeat those again as they did last year though. Better to have them than not if it doesn't toss you off track though.

I got some of the highlighters myself. I don't need the folders so I left that on the shelf. The mechanical pencils were a good deal for us and I'll be picking up more if I see them on a good sale again later in the "sale season" just to have extras.

    Hi everyone,

I've learned with school supplies, if you see something on sale and there's even a slight chance you might need it go ahead and get it.  With both my boys I remember the mad dash the evening of  the first day of school trying to find a specific item in several different stores and it not being available.  However, just a few short weeks before I saw it all over town...I say go for it and account for it as an advance towards next month, which is almost here anyway.

Walgreens beat it. This week a 6 pack of highlighters is .29. This makes them about .05 individually.

I got caught last year thinking a deal was awesome. Compared to regular prices they really were but then a week or two later the same store or another store would drop the price even farther on a sale.
