I just had to tell everyone this...

We have been feeding our three cats Wellness brand canned food for the past year and a half. We found this food when Jasmine was diagnosed with chronic renal failure and the vet told us to switch her to mostly canned food. We did some research and chose Wellness brand because they use human grade food to make their products. All three cats loved the food we bought which was a miracle in itself. They are seniors and very picky. But for Jasmine it was a life saver: she actually gained some of her weight back and started to be active again. Her allergies cleared up and I noticed an improvement in the fur on all three cats.

Sadly last month Jasmine took a turn for the worse and we chose euthanasia so that she would not suffer. I wrote to Wellness to thank them for producing such a wonderful pet food. I told them that I believed the food helped to prolong Jasmine's life so we had eighteen more months with our sweet girl. They sent a lovely condolence email back and told me they would send coupons for purchasing food for our other kitties. I assumed they would just send the coupons so I had a surprise when we got the mail from them. They sent a lovely handwritten condolence card that was signed by everyone in their office. Inside were 2 coupons for $10 off their products. The card was so nice that my husband put it on his desk and we've been telling everyone about it.

I've had a lot of poor customer service in the past few years. I didn't expect anything when I wrote to them - I just wanted to thank them for their product. I think their actions went above and beyond so we will definitely continue to buy their products and I will recommend them to everyone I know.

Word of mouth is still excellent advertising, and I will definitely be on the lookout for Wellness brand kitty food the next time I'm in the pet store.

I've never used Wellness cat food before, but I've heard that it is really good.

I've found great customer service from Meow Mix, Fancy Feast, and Hill's Science cat food. I email them and I phone them.

I'm truly sorry about Jasmine. I had to send my beloved Tigger over the Rainbow Bridge in 2000. I still miss him.

 I picked up several bags of Wellness Light cat food at the Boxes and Cans Store last week. It's perhaps the best food I know of. My cats love it - a bit too much! I have 2 overweight torties, and  I can't give it to them. They pig out,. unabshed. My boys, who know enough to stop when they're full and get a lot of exercise, need it. I end up having to stand over them when I feed them, kind of difficult since they all eat in different places. Got to snatch up any food and put it away. 

On a good note, my ShakerToy came down with an infection last weekend, 107 fever, not moving at all. I got him to the vet posthaste (paying $100 emergency visit fee before the vet saw him...and I  gave him antibiotics and intravenous fluids at home. He pulled through fine. He had caught and eaten a huge bluejay - I read that cats can pick up bird flu when they eat them. Cut his claws way back, and he's going to get those soft claws now.

 That is very touching. I found some local retailers for them. I will definitely give it a try. They also sell dog food.

We are moving to more wet food for our cat. She really needs that extra moisture.

I'm glad to hear that ShakerToy is ok. That must have been scary for you. When we lived in an apartment I used to let the cats out on our balcony until one of them managed to catch a bird that landed! They are completely indoor cats now.

As for overeating, I know some people only put out the recommended amount of food and they'll feed their pets twice a day. I'm lucky that both of my girls don't tend to gorge so we can leave a bowl of dry food down all day for them. The wet food is another story though. They get their servings of that and then we clean the bowls - though they're already licked clean by the time we pick them up! I completely understand the need to stand over them to make sure the other cat doesn't steal the food.

To anyone who is thinking of switching to Wellness, if your cat is picky you may need to mix the dry food with his/her regular dry for a while to get them used to it.
