    August Angel Food Menu

I Just notice that August menu is up. There is no latin veg and fruit box. There is know an allergen free dry mix products. This is the first time that I have seen frozen lima beans, fish sticks, head of lettuce, and sweat potatoes in the signature box.

    Re: August Angel Food Menu

I like the menu for August with the chicken nuggets, fish sticks, lettuce & sweet potatoes.  A little different than before.  Don't care for the chicken special again.  Oh, well.  I guess I have enough frozen chicken breast & chunks that I can make enough breaded tenders & nuggest to last  a while. :)

This was the first month that I could buy everything on the fruits/veggie special list cheaper here by about $2 to 3.  Disappointing as I'd like to have tried it this month with both honeydew and cantaloupe on the list.   Pricing the signature box, it'll save us about $10 again.

I'm waiting to see if the church we order from will be continuing their program.  The August menu and ordering link isn't showing on their Angel Food page yet.  Hoping they can continue to host and be the distribution point.

Linda C i notice that the chicken special wasn't the best either. At least We save ten dollars. Ten dollars that could help with something else. Is there another sight close to you that you can go to if this host site quits. That happen to me once. we receive notice one month that the following would be there last month. The sight I deal with now found out the news when I called and checked them out. Good luck LindaC.

The next closest site is about 20 miles away.  If the church that has it in town here can no longer host the Angel Food program, we'll probably just quit using the program as opposed to driving out of town.  I think we'd be ok shopping more carefully around town.  The only thing I would really miss is getting a 10 lb. bag of breaded chicken tenders, which we've never done yet (got the 10 lb. bag of raw chicken back in April).  I'll start looking around Kroger, Walmart, Aldis and maybe even SaveALot to see what their breaded tenders run.  We used to buy Tyson boxed chicken at about $2.99 for around 10 oz. or so.  I know i can do better than that with a store or off brand.

Are you charged sales taxes where you are? Is Angel Food required to charge them?

No sales tax on food; 6% on non-food items.  There's no tax on AF either.

I was curious. This can make a difference, I know it does for me.

Yeah, it makes a big difference.  I lived in Tennessee near the KY border and there sales tax was about 8.25% on everything.  I'd go into KY & shop, mostly because I lived in a teeny town.
