I just wanted to brag about my JCPenney deals. My account was closed years ago for lack of use. So while shopping with a friend the other day the lady mentioned that if I reopened it(don't worry wont use it, never did before) I would get 25% off all purchases that day. Well in my hand I had dorm sheets for my son and 2 pairs of shorts he very much needs(he only has 2 pair now). So I ended up getting the dorm sheets regularly 40 for 15 and the shorts regularly 24.00 for 12.00 and change after sale and discount. I got dd a pair of nice quality flip flops for 3.20 and me a pair of silver earrings for 3.80.I will go into the local penny's this week and pay it off. I am also looking forward to the special deals I will get in the mail for being a card carrying member. 

BUT while we were there my friend decided to renew her card also. So we had different ladies doing the applications. When she told my my limit I sort of hollared across to my friend "hey Laurie I get to spend 1800.00 today". Then she told me hers had been denied. I was mortified and my heart broke for her! She is recently widowed and even though she had no balance on her account and a good payment history they denied her. We think it is because of her low income and now being widowed.

Dear 4given not perfect, Sometimes what happens with store charge cards is this:  the issuing bank has charge accounts with MANY stores.  If there was a problem ever with any of them or with the issuing bank itself, the bank will deny credit for ALLL of the stores.  Maybe your friend's husband was late just once in ppaying a store charge card bill -- that would be enoguh in teh current econoomic climate for her to be denied credit.  It's unfair, but tehre it is.

Don't beat yourself up too much on this. We all say things we wish we hadn't said or could take back. You had no way of knowing she would be denied.
