My card is supposed to be refilled today, so far it has not.  I am glad I carried over $515.  Our medical was all redone this past month, as we ran out of the COBRA the state was providing for us, as it has been 18 months.  I might have to call the state later and find out if it will be refilled.

    Deb,

It was something that I was wondering if they would do or not. The drink mix is more of a suppliment and more in the vitamin kind of category. These kind of items I know aren't covered. I am not upset that it isn't, it's just more of a warning not to drink it too much!

I called the state, it was put in to be approved on June 12, she sent a message to the worker.  It is not approved for July as of now, maybe a good reminder to me as to another reason why I like to carry over!

Dear Tracy, That shows how "efficient" the MN SNAP/Food Stamps workers are -- No, I don't mean that, I am certain that they are over-worked & can't handle the caseloads that they are assigned.  But, sstill, the impact on you & your family is hard.  I am SO GLAD that you carried over so much grocery EBT.  Hope this gets resolved today or at the latest by Weds.  Love in Him, Deb

Dear Luvd_Lioness, Oh!  I guess that vitamins are not covered here, either.  I wasn't thinking that "bran drink" could be considered a nutritional supplement.  Love in Him, Deb

Dear All, My parsley plaant was dying, so I decided to try sooooooomething else.  (The ciliantro died too.  This happened last year, too, so there must be something about Northern exposures & that kind of plant with leaves on long stems.)  Yesterday afternoon, I got a sage plant at Whole Foods.  I now have as herbs thyme, dill, a mediium pot of basil, chives, & the sage.  (I also have 2 big pots of tomatoes.)  My EBT balance going in was $131.08.  I spent $2.45, & now have $128.63 remaining till 8/1.  Yours in Hiim, Deb

Dear All, Since Josie will be here 2 hours today, & I had on hand only 2 carrots for her to grate (I only have 1 c of grated carrots in teh freezer, I had learned to my dismay), I wanted more.  I also decided to get the coffee beans that I had been wanting on this trip, instead of waiting till Sunday, as I am out of Taster's Choice & very much wanted to return to brewed.  (I asked, & the beans I had in teh fridge had long ago expired; they aer good only for 2 weeks, at MOST a month [my extrapolation] when in the fridge; when frozen, they keep indefinitely.  So there went my fridge stash from a year ago or so.)

I started with a SNAP/Food Stamps EBT balance of $128.63.  I spent 62cents for 2 medium loose organic carrots.  I spent $9.99 for 24 oz of organic generic Pacific Rim Blend (non-acidic) coffee beans.   My balance is now $118.07.

I spent $74 at the store today, for 4-5 dinners, milk, eggs, cheese, cherries, nectarines, and some candy.  I have $440 left on the card, and refilled out the form, and it will be dropped off today.  I don't know when my card will get refilled.

Deb, how do you brew coffee?  I have a perculator, good coffee.  I think that if you have high cholesterol, for some reason you should use the paper filter.  I like the fact the perculator doesn't need anything.  I have perked coffee maybe once or twice a week, instant the rest. I did try a sample of the Dunking Donuts coffee that I got for free at Christmastime, it was delicious.

Dear Tracy, I have a Gevalia drip coffee-maker that I got years back on a promotion.  It makes up to 12 cups.  It uses filters, but a Forumite pointed out some time back (sorry that I forget who!) that you don't need the regular fancy cones, you can use the white bowl-shaped cheap ones & just fold them.  Ii alsoo haave a coffee grinder (Braun).  I actually have 2, but 1 I dedicate to spices.  This AM, I forgot to make the coffee after taking my thyroid meds (needs 15 minutes before I can take my AM meds & make breakfasst,, so I ended up using instant coffee again.  Tomorrow, I vow to brew coffee!  Love in Him, Deb

    Deb-

    Brewed coffee today?

I bought some groceries for dinner yesterday, I had two friends over from my chem class.  I made artichoke spinach lasagna, a fruit plate, and burnt sugar cake, they brought bread, salad, and guacomole and blue corn chips,  One brought wine.  It was a ver fun evening, we played a board game after dinner.

My balance is $410.  I bought a can of artichokes, cherries, a cantaloupe, a few white nectarines, spinach, two bags of sugar on sale, bread for lunch, and a few spicices, anise and chili powder.

    Today we need milk.
