Re: July, 2009 SNAP/Food Stamps
Deb, We have an overweight and patient corgi dog, he lets the little kids sit on him and twiddle his ears. His food costs about $15 a month, two bags of Dog Chow. Our cat, an orange tabby, is cheaper, about $10 a month, for food, and the store brand regular litter. Maybe that will help you budget. Our dog is medium size. I spent $13.99 at Papa Murphy's again last night, for a family size pizza, cheese bread, and a cinnamon wheel, with coupons. I didn't want to cook, felt tired from studyng. I think that's pretty cheap for a special meal for 8 people. I have $850 left on the card until July 13, I am definately on track to carry over more than $500. I am thinking I will carry over $700. I spent about $770 in the month of June, plus charging groceries those two times, for I think about another $50. I hope to spend about $700-$750 in July, assuming I will get $762 in benefits. I spend about $75 on milk. I am hoping to get to the farmer's market that takes food stamps sometime in the next few weeks.

I think I'll soon be hitting Papa Murphy's for a pizza... it sounds good. I have a free cheese bread coming also.

Re: July, 2009 SNAP/Food Stamps
Papa Murphy's is a take and bake pizza place, and they are the one place, because you bake it at home, that you can use EBT besides the grocery store. Here the Walgreen's will not accept EBT, although Walmart will for the groceries. I would like to get the Walgreen's deals, plus they are about 4 blocks from my house. I got an A on my test! 136 out of 150, plus I did the extra credit, that will be added on Monday. I got 7 questions wrong out of 75. I think I know which ones, what happens when you mix carboxylic acids, and alcohols, the way to get an ester, etc, I had a hard time remembering those, what the primary rx would be. Also, a few metabolism questions, I'm sure. I am happy with my score. Our corgi is 7 years old, he is a very good dog.

Here, some Walgreens stores will & some won't accept SNAP/Foood Stamps. The managers of those who won't tell me that it is up to each store individually.

Re: July, 2009 SNAP/Food Stamps
Dear All, I shopped at Walgreens today. My SNAP/Food Stamps balance was $238.09 (nothing spent on July 1st's allotment of $200, $38.09 left from June) going in. I spent $6.46, & my balance now is $231.63.
I bought on sale a 10-pack of Quaker instant oatmeal for $3.49. There was a coupon inside for 2 boxes - $1 off. I'll go back & get 2 more boxes, probably later this aft. I also got 3 6-oz cans of Lindsay pitted large black olives @ 99cents.
On Sunday morning, a congregant from my shul/synagogue is taking me to Whole Foods for a major shopping trip.

Re: July, 2009 SNAP/Food Stamps
Today was the last day of 4/$10, buy 8 get $10 back at Rainbow, so bought eight Ego syrup for $20, then $10 back, the loss leader Edy's ice cream at $2, and the ice cream cones at "yesterday's prices" for 57 cents, I think, so spent $12.56 and saved $14.68. Total left on card until 7/13 is $796
