Re: July 1 $$$ Stretching
I ate lunch at home. For the first time in months I ordered a pizza. I did not enjoy my pizza, but I did not feel like cooking. I won't want a pizza for months.
I have been feeling bad all day with a backache. knees that hurt, and a headache. I did not go to Harris Teeter.
I will be purchasing Bubba Burgers on sale at Harris Teeter for $7.99 a box this week (I have $1.00 off coupons that I'll be using). I will also be purchasing meatballs on sale. Both Food Lion and Harris Teeter have BOGO Mama Lucia meatballs on sale. I'll buy them at both stores. Frozen meatballs are a staple for me.
I got the new remotes today.
Aurora must want something. She's been trying to be on my lap a lot.
I have decided to purchase the fully cooked BBQ rack of ribs for $6.99 a pound at Harris Teeter for my 4th of July meal. I have Bush's Baked Beans plus I have Jiffy Cornbread mix. It'll be a nice meal with very little effort on my part. I do not own a grill nor am I invited out for a cookout.

Re: July 1 $$$ Stretching
I SO agree VNW! The insects esp. mosquitos are like a plague this year and the allergies are even affecting Cinnamon! She has watering eyes and sneezes. One night she sneezed next to the couch and hit her head! The vet told me to give her Benadryl.
I am up earlier than I wanted to because my allergies kicked in and I couldn't sleep. So I perused my deal sites and ordered freebies. Last night I cleaned my canning room downstairs for the first time since last fall! I made a list of everything I have left and what I'll need to can this season to make it a year. I'm so proud of myself for being organized for once.
I am delivering cheese and eggs tomorrow for Income of $51! I have a Tractor Supply coupon that expires Sunday for $10 off a $50 purchase and I need 2-chick starter $14 each, and Loose Mineral $19 (to spread on the garden plants!), and 2 -cracked corn $7.50 each.
Dh made $50 last night making a metal roof flashing and installing it for a lady.
I made a list of what I am running out of and going to SavAlot while I'm in town. Basics like flour, sugar, creamer, dressing, baking soda, vanilla, ramen noodles, sliced cheese. Then I'm going to a store that accepts internet coupons as I have one for $3.50 off any size bag Dog Chow, Free Burts Bees lip balm, Free Gionoro Flatbread pizza, $1 off Senseo coffee pods.
Going to Curves this morning, weeding the garden, picking some onions, taking a nap.
Dinner tonight is from the pantry/garden: salmon patties, green beans, new potatoes, salad.

Re: July 1 $$$ Stretching
Morning all. Belated happy anniversary Swedluv! Vnw, I'm sorry you didn't like your pizza, but your 4th of july meal sounds good! Last night I moved money from our emergency savings to pay our end of the month bills. That one week without Dh's pay was killer. It scares me how close to the bone we operate our home. Good news is no credit card use in June which is why we are barely squeezing by...so scary to have to face that we were one of those families that were living beyond our means on a regular basis, even if it was one or two grocery trips and two meals out a month, plus that BIG purchase we thought we needed, and some things we did need (lawnmower repair, car repairs). Today will include a grocery trip, possibly gas if I drive anywhere, and a trip to the post office. Tomorrow is payday, thank goodness. My ex made the purchase of a laptop, printer, etc. for ds's grad present that we are splitting. My share is $900, and I am feeling a bit like laughing hysterically as it will take me a few months AT LEAST to put that together. I am blocking out my day into 2 hours of cleaning, 4 hours working on the IRS issue, and 4 hours writing. peace.

Re: July 1 $$$ Stretching
I'm up earlier than I planned to be, my body is saying go back to bed you fool you need a little more sleep but dd#2 is the only other one up in the house and prone to getting into mischief so I'll stay up maybe catching a nap later. Today I'm cleaning the livingroom maybe finiding some of the missing dishes that are probably in there ds#3 picks up the dishes as part of his chores but when they fall behind/under the furniture they stay lost till I clean and find them. Also today I'm hoping to finish dd#2's sheet set I managed to make the bottom sheet yesterday but need to finish the top and make her pillow case today which will mean a trip to WM since they have the same fabric as the craft store cheaper and are closer, I might pick up a little extra to make her a matching nightgown . Yesterday I finally convinced dh to change his own bandage since he insists on jumping around like I'm torturing him everytime I touch his foot. He goes back to the dr for a post surgery follow up right afterwork and plans to ask the dr when he can actually step into a shower again. I'm pretty sure he can now he just has to do a bandagechange after which he doesn't want to take the time to do. Dh isn't always the best when it comes to adapting to a change in his routine. He doesn't like just washing up yet he refuses to get up a few minuets earlier so he can hot pack his toe and change the bandage after a shower men! Also yesterday I asked dh to put a couple bins in the attic and ds#1 to put down the boards I bought on Monday. Ds#1 asked me not to buy anymore boards cause there wasn't enough room to lay them all down upstairs. When the attic was opened up for the bins I saw that he was right the larger side was done and the smaller side could only hold 1 board a section (5 sections). The project cost $15.15 and greatly increased our attic storage area to the point dd#1 was asking if she could store her college stuff up there since there's so much room. Ds#2 is cooking tonight ham steaks that he planned on grilling depending on the weather tonight.

Re: July 1 $$$ Stretching
Today I am thinking of going into NY to look at couches and chairs. Need to find a place that is offering free financing no payments or interest for 2 years. Our couch is ripped torn and the recliner is broken on one side no longer repairable(dh has done it several times). I have been looking at them on craigslist and not finding the kind I want. I would like one of those all wood framed where you buy the cushions for it so it will last forever and I can have new cushion covers made as the years go by. My friend has one and it has held up to 5 kids for a long time. It's been about 20 years since I have financed anything like that and am willing to do it if I can get no payments, no interest for at least two years. I can plug away little by little at it as if it is a layaway. To make matters a little more urgent our dog urinated in our very old dirty disgusting looking recliner. I have cleaned it and put pet odor remover on it but b/c of all the humidity it still smells. DH thinks we should go with leather to avoid the pet problems. Does anyone know how a leather couch handles pet urine or pets in general?
When I asked God "why don't you help all the suffering people?" He said "thats what I put you here for".

Re: July 1 $$$ Stretching
Dear All, Yesterday was B-Budget Day & today is B-Bedbugs Sprraying Day.
B-Budget Day resulted in teh Democrats' passing a second budget plan that would not go into effect until 10/30/09 anyway, & that the Guv is vetoing due to taxes. IOU's, which banks don't need to accept, are going out starting tomorrow to those unllucky follks who are owed tax refunds!
The Aides' union had a meeting last night, & I want to hear all about it when my T-Th aide, Aurelia, & I are banished fromteh apt for bedbugs spraying today.
B-Bedbugs Sspraying Day was preceded by P-purging Day. We threw out trullly SCADS of paper products such as envelopes, + many file-folder holders, etc. from the closet. Almost all of this was left over from my pre-'97 law practice. The closet now only contains toiletreis, canning suppllies, my mother's silverware chest & silver napkin rings, & bags full of things like shoes, clothes hangers, etc that I am keeping but that are more easily sprayed in groups (by spraying inside each bag). ALL of the clothes have been either gotten rid of (given away or discarded), or, as to 5% of the original total, kept out for me to launder & wear.
B-Bedbugs Spraying Day will be characterized by a break in the proceedings to receive & put away food from teh Jewish Family & Children's Services groceries/meals delivery. Before & after, I'll clean, put the remainder of cloth items into laundry bags, AND chill out aat the coomputer.

Re: July 1 $$$ Stretching
4given-all I can say about leather furniture is that our one piece of (pleather) furniture is a chair/recliner and it is the one item of furniture that is safe from the animals. They (2 cats, 2 dogs) don't like the feel of it and never even attempt to jump up on it. It's a nice looking piece of furniture and has stayed that way because no animals touch it. The drawback is that when it's hot, it can be uncomfortable (sticky) to sit on. Good luck!
Today, I plan to stay home the whole day!! It's been a long time since I've been able to do this! Very excited. This morning, plan to work until 9:30 or 10 then work on DS room. We've partially moved him, my next job is to go through all his toys and get them together, organized and cleaned out! He has a lot that he has grown out of and since we are not having a boy, and don't plan to have any more kids, time to pass them on. Plus, a lot of broken stuff, stuff that I need to find the pieces for, stuff that can be passed down to DD. Will be a project in itself to sort out all his stuff!!!
Plan to make two loaves of bread today, a baguette and a seeded wheat bread. Also plan to make a zucchini casserole for dinner with squash from the garden. And if I have time, will make some kind of sweet treat/dessert as well since the oven is going to be on. Will rest this afternoon if I can and let the kids swim too.
Lots to do, glad to stay home, should be a $0 spend day!!! Woohoo! (Is payday though, do need to sort out budget, bills, maybe pay some of them, but no cash out today!)
