How are you stretching $$$ ?

    Re: June 23 $$$ Stretching

I had to cancel lunch with my friend.

    I ate at home today.

Tuesday I'll be going to the dentist's to get my teeth cleaned. Then I'll have lunch with my friend. After that I'll go to Dr. Skinny's for the dreaded blood work. I told the nursing home that I'd go by there to see Mom so I'll go there after I leave Dr. Skinny's office.

Mom told the Charge Nurse Monday morning that she missed me and that she loved me very much. She wanted me to come to lunch today. Mom was apparently having a good day.

We've had storms here again. Aurora kept jumping onto my lap for some attention.

I have just realized that Dr. Skinny doesn't work on Wednesdays so it'll be Thursday before I hear about the lab results.

Meanwhile I am itching like crazy because I've had little gnats/fruit flies stinging me. Yesterday I was bitten on a finger by a big blabk ant. Ant bites really hurt.

Hope the blood work goes great, VNW. Today we are going out for breakfast but since I'm the only one up so far, I'll have to find something to keep me busy. Only two days left for my early morning job, but I have been asked to come back next fall when school starts up so I'll be back at it for one more year. It's tough to get up at 4:45 every school day morning, drive out into the dark/snow/wind, etc. to work for about an hour but it's worth it as it pushes us closer to financial stupendousness, lol. Okay, it helps us to pay bills. THis week our extra expenses include a haircut for me, father's day breakfast today (with ds) and brunch on Saturday with DD1 and her boyfriend who are traveling here from DS's graduation. DS's grad gift is a laptop split between his dad and me, and I told my ex I could pay him for half by the end of August, so I hope to be able to start putting $$ in savings so I can do exactly that. Next week should be expense free other than gas/food stuff. okay, need to get to today's cleaning. hugs and peace.

I've got the most humungous blisters on the bottoms of my feet! Yow! A friend stopped over to pick up her son at my house and wanted to go for a walk...I went right out and walked 3 miles with her...in my sandals. BIG mistake! I have my feet up on the couch today even though i really want to walk the dog before it gets hot today.

A friend and I are going to lunch today, her turn to pay my turn to drive. : ) We go out once a month and take turns paying and driving.

Ds#1 is gone all day between work and friends. I had kids over all day yesterday, teens over on thursday.  I think we'll grill burgers out tonight with chips and dip left over from yesterday.

I'm not getting much done today, good thing I did all the laundry and got it hung out yesterday!

See,, Virginia Neeeedlewooman, This is the 2nd time in just a few days that your Mooom has said that she misses & loves you very much.  She is perfectly lucid soometimes.  She appreciates you, & at those times when she is NOT lllucid, & crazes up your life & makes you so miserable, it is thatssshe is not in her right mind.  Absollutely, she does not mean the names she calls you & teh trouble she causes you at those times.  Take her recent words to  heart, enjoy them, & keep them stored up for the bad times.  Love in Him, Deb

Ouch, Michelle Cinnamon Huskies!   Do you have any witch hazel in the house?  I found it so soothing on my bedbug bites that I would hazard a guess that it would sooth the itching of blisters, although of course you need moleskin to cut out around the blister to support your foot so that you're not putting your weight on the blister.  Hope you can walk without pain soon.  Love in Him, Deb

Dear ALl, I have a very pleasant day in store.   At 9AM, I get my injectioons & I get weighed by Lucy, my nurse-practitioner at my personal physiciian's,, Peter's, practice.  Well, gettting weighed is an iffy procedure, but strangely enough, I LOVE the injections.  It's THIS time-release medication that does the most to keep me well & stable.  Anything with such a good outcome is worth the "pain in the butt" that accompanies it!

Then I'll pick up my 2 on-sale Mornignstar Farms soy products with 75cents off in addition.

This afternoon, I have my SNAP/Food Stamps audit & conversation.  I am really looking forward to getting an idea of how much of a deduction the food that I am getting froom Jewish Familly & Children's Services is "worth."  I am quite willlling to be left with just $25 in value, but when I think about it, the food while ENORMOUSLY generous, probably doesn't cost $175 ....  (I get $200/mo in Food Stamps.)  We'll see in good time, I know that the person I'm meeeeting with this aft doesn't have the authority to issue a Notice of Action (decision) on this issue.  Her job is to audit my income/expenses for the 1st quarter of 2009, to ensure that I've reported accurately.  It's a hoot, they say that these are random audits, but year after year they always "randomly" audit me!!!

BTW, the watermelon that we bought yesterday was at the peak of ripeness & sugar.  You probably know to look for a large patch of yellow(ish green) on an oval third of the melon -- that shows that it lay in one place long enough to ripen well.

    Re: June 23 $$$ Stretching

Hi all.  Have to babysit for 2 families today.  When I finish with one I have  to go to the next.  I will be dropping a name to the mom's of another lady that can take my place.  Especially after school starts.  I don't want to go from working at the daycare to babysitting anymore. I'm moving on from doing that.  Dh doesn't like me to babysit so much either.  He and I want to spend more time together.  Yea!

No money out again today.  This will be 4 days I haven't been to a store.  I will have to break down and buy milk.  I'm really the only one who uses it anyway.  So I can probably make it stretch a few more days.

Hope you have a wonderful day!

Should be frugal today with no money out... no visits to the store!  ;-) I love days like this!  cross fingers.

DD is going on a trip and camp will provide pizza.  I forgot and made her lunch last night and then remembered AFTER I made it.  Will be fine for tomorrow.  I brought all my food, cottage cheese, peaches, tortillas and veggies and thats about it.  I am not sure what is for dinner.

Last night ended up making some spegetti and took out some frozen sauce and added some to it for dinner. DD dad came over and had dinner with us. Also, had a half loaf of Garlic Bread in Freezer so used that up.  Everyone drank water.

Tonight might do some of the frozen dinner things and just wing it.  Something easy for sure.

Gas is adding up in order to take DD to her new camp, it really adds up even though I stay at or near the speed limit.  Oh well, just until end of August.  Oh.. DD started with her tutor yesterday, expensive, 50.00 a pop but so worth it.

    Have a stretchy day!

I don't wanna leave the house today!! Sad It is too hot for me. At almost noon the heat index is almost 100! I will be leaving about 3:30 for my doctor appointment. I know I have that place and then the pharmacy (prescription is no charge there). I might run down to Walmart too, but I think the heat will drive me home ASAP. This whole week is suppose to be close to 90... I think it's time to dig out my books on cold (I read books that take place in cold places to cool me down. I got a new book, new for me, of Jack London stories, so Alaska winters!)

I had trouble sleeping last night. Funny thing is that it took an antihistamine and a glass of pepsi to get me to sleep. I woke up at 11am (fell asleep finally at 4am). I also lowered my thermostat to 70 to help me sleep also. I realized I need to dig out my summer weight comforter.

Dishes will be done tonight. Taking clothes down from the line and the racks also tonight. (The amount of time the AC has been running... they should be dry!)

Ohhh... watermelon sounds great Deb!! Smile Good luck with the audit!
