This will be short as the weather is screwing up my ISP dish.

Thursday I'm getting my hair colored and cut.

    I ate at home today.

I have felt awful all day. Aurora and I took an afternoon nap in my bedroom.

Friday I'll find out if Aurora has lost any weight. She is more lively now. I think that she feels better.

Good Morning to all of my frugal friends I have miised you all so very much. i had computer and internet problems for a while. i just got a new computer out of necessity. My internet connection is good.

I have been trying to be as frugal as possible. I am still unemployed. The children are getting social security death benefits from their father. I am hoping to be able to get back online on a regular basis. My life is getting better. I still miss my DH a lot and i always will. I will forever love him.

    Re: June 18 $$$ Stretching

Welcome back jcrmom!! I've been keeping you in my prayers that things were ok! I see that prayers are still in order for the work situation...

Well, lets see... Today should be interesting. I'm going on 1 hr of sleep. Being on here isn't helping since the pain is in my wrists/hands/arms. Oh, the 1 hr is even with a 2 pain pills and a muscle relaxer.  I have things that should be done but can be postponed/skipped if necessary.

    1. grocery shopping that are loss leaders, latest to do that is Saturday night, and it's a 24hr store so not worried
    2. cleaning up the kitchen
    3. doing a load of clothes, waiting for the sun to shine on that note though (hearing "bowling" Lightning right now) so I can naturally bleach

Today I ~will~ eat food in the house. I have more than enough food so I can't complain or think of ordering out.

    Have a wonderful day!! Smile

JCRmom, so glad to hear from you. Woke up with a sore throat so I'm taking echinacea and vitamins. I work from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m. today so I'll just push through. DD2 took me to get my hair done and she paid for it. Her friend is a hair stylist and she colored my hair or highlighted it or something so that the gray strands are gone and the subtle highlights give it the look of my hair when I was 20 - brown with red highlights. I'm thrilled. Today is payday for me and dh, and we have to save what we get today because next week dh won't get a check since this is his furlough week. So many people at his work are barely doing their jobs because they resent the two weeks of furloughs each has to take this summer. I don't get it. Dh is working harding, making himself indispensable (as possible). He is livid at the employees around him that show up late, leave early and just barely do enough to get by. The owners and upper management ALL took pay cuts so that the company had time to regroup a bit. To me, that says they really care and are trying. Gotta get going. have a great day! peace.

Falcon, VNW, Pamelaw, I hope you all feel better sooner rather than later.

Jcrmom, welcome back! I hope things get better for you as well.

Woke up around 2:00 this morning with a massive thunderstorm. The weather man says winds were 50-70 mph, heavy rain and some hail. We got 1.4 inches of rain from that storm. At least the tornado sirens didn't go off. I assume they didn't, DH didn't get me up, and he was awake and walking around. Normally it's me who wakes him up, but I didn't stay awake during the storm last night.

We hit the big 9-0 yesterday (as in 90 degrees). And humid a all get out (ick). We've probably seen the last of the highs in the 70s for a while, which is OK as long as we don't get too many 90s.

Got a busy day today. Got to pick up meds and shop the loss leaders that will keep while we're gone. DH has to mow the lawn tonight, since it's the last chance he'll get this month, and as much rain as we've been getting it needs it. I also have to get the dogs' food ready for when we take them to the kennel tomorrow afternoon. I put their food in ziploc bags so all the kennel lady has to do is dump the food out of the bags. Their cookies and meds are in the bags too, so the kennel lady doesn't have to mess with that. And she helps us out by returning the empty bags so they can be reused the next time. I still have to pack. I don't see that happening before tomorrow night.

Stopped at Starbucks on the way in this morning. Between the back and the neck, I'm not having a good week, and the neck pain is giving me a headache. I'll go back to the chiro again tomorrow if my neck still bothers me today. I don't want to be on vacation 2 weeks with neck pain. My back nearly always hurts first thing in the morning. It takes a while to work the kinks out of it.

Breakfast was eggs and cheese, lunch is leftover bbq chicken, spinach salad and pineapple (trying to use up my spinach, and I don't have any lettuce or cucumbers). Dinner will be pork chops and something. Not sure what "something" is yet. Maybe we'll try the quinoa FIL gave us last Sunday. I'm leaving the last of the eggs for dinner tomorrow night. It will be something quick and easy and we won't have to go out to eat.

I hope everyone has a good day today!

    Jill

jcrmom, I'm glad you are back and hope you continue to heal. Prayers to you for comfort and guidance in looking for a job.

I work 1/2 day today. Brought my coffee, yogurt and fruit with me. Lunch will be at home with the boys. Maybe some swimming this afternoon. We hit 90 degrees yesterday as well. Humid, too. Summer is here, lol.

DH grilled chicken last night so enough for leftovers for lunch. Tonight, I may do fish on the grill or try a turkey-burger recipe I found in a magazine. We have both in the freezer. We have fruit and greens for a salad for side dishes. Popsicles for dessert!

A friend of mine is having surgery on her hip today. She has been in pain for 2 years with mis-diagnosed calcification. She was diagnosed with hip strain and put on physical therapy which made it much worse. She finally paid for an MRI which showed breakage and floating cartilage/calcification in her hip socket. She went from running 3 to 4 miles every day to only being able to walk 1-2 miles. And she is a certified Stott Pilates instructor who has kept teaching through all this pain. Her husband just started a new job and cannot take more than one day off right now. So between her brother and friends, we are going to help with meals and errands for a few days. Her hubby will be availble on the weekends but at least the next 2 days as well as 2-3 days next week will be tough for her. I'm going to try and put together a lasagna and some french bread for her. If she has too much food, it can always go into the freezer for another time.

DH and I emailed our summer goals and things to think about money-wise. Even though it's not on paper, we have the other's thoughts saved via email. We also emailed each other our upcoming appointments, etc. so we are on the same page.

    Take care!

    Good morniing all,

Potroast was a hit last night, and I ended up having 3 guests instead of just two which is fine, there was more than enough with leftovers too boot.  Love my new 5.00 crock pot and everyone is jealous cause I got such a deal!  ;-)

today, food from home.  DD going to a water park so packed her up a nice sack lunch, I am having tortillas with chicken and veggies.  I think WW tortillas are going to be a main thing for me this summer.  Packed full of fiber and easy to use up leftovers.

Dinner will probably be left over potroast for me and DD will have dinner with dad.  I have no shopping plans.  I am literally broke!  Busted, flat out.  It really snuck up on me this month!  Wow!

Well, have a good day, make it so!
