    Habitat For Humanity Resale Stores

My DH and I recently visited a Habatat Resale store and found some great deals on paint. They were having a half price sale, and also if you buy 4 gallons of paint, the 5th one is free. These were good quality paints, and we also purchased a couple of gallons of white satin paint from Lowes when we got our painting supplies.

With my Dhs good eye for color and some experimenting, we went on a marathon of painting and did all 3 bedrooms in 1 week.Whew! It sure looks good though.

We did the master in two shades of light blue, one room in a light rose and the other in a light grey blue.

I think we probably spent about 50 dollars in all. Party!!!

Cool! Sounds like you had a good find!

We have one of those stores in our area but we have yet to visit it. I keep saying that we need to check it out though...

It's mostly because it's kind of far away in an area that we rarely go. I THINK, if I remember correctly, that the one in our area is on Florida Blvd in Baton Rouge. That's about a 45 minute drive for us. We have several neighbors, though, that I thought might would like to go too so I keep saying that we'll take a right one day.... We rent a mobile home for dirt cheap from friends... for the low rent we pay, we are "responsible" for fixing things. Hubby is a great handy man so the labor part is fine. But I still hate to put much money into the place since it's not ours. My thoughts are that if we got a few things at the resale store to fix up the place for the 2 or more years we have left there, it wouldn't be a whole lot out of pocket.

Anyways... one day we'll make it theer. LOL.

PS. Where is there one in your area Brandy? Mom lives in Slidell so she may be interested if there is one that way...

    Have a blessed day,

    Julie

Habitat Resale stores are a great way to donate items that the thrift stores won't take either, like carpet, appliances, sinks, etc.
