    Cover Letter for Resume

I have done cover letters and resumes for my husband before when he was applying for jobs. I have never had to submit a cover letter to a company that contacted him to see if he was interested in a possible position.

Does anyone have any idea how that would be worded?

Hmmm . . .  since they contacted him, I think you can keep it short and simple-

    Dear ________:

Thank you so much for contacting me about the XXX position with XXX Company (or your organization).  I enjoyed hearing about the position and appreciate your consideration!

As we discussed, enclosed is a copy of my resume for your review.  I have been working as . . . (this is where you can fill in the details you want to point out about experience, education, etc.).

Once again, thank you so much for your consideration.  I look forward to hearing from you and learning more about this opportunity.  Should you have any additional questions, please don't hesitate to contact me at ....

     Sincerely,

    ________-

     Maybe something like this??

I worked for years as a recruiter . . .  I think in this situation, since the person already knows who he is and what he does, you can keep it short and to the point, you may not even need to highlight specifics (depending on how well your DH knows this person).

    Hope that might be helpful!

They have to get the contract first. Some resumes of potential personnel are being included in the proposal. It sounds like if they get the work then a firm offer will follow.

    I appreciate the well wishes.

     Update on this:

He was informed they won't know who will be awarded the contract for another thirty days.

The company did not get the contract so no job offer.

It was. It would have meant more money and benefits but he can continue on where he is unlike others who are struggling with unemployment.

Oh yes, you are still blessed, given the fact that hubbie is employed. These days, any job at all is a blessing!
