What I'm doing today to save some $$

Hi!    I haven't posted in this one yet.  I'm excited to go read through the posts and learn some things.  It looks like the lawn watering thread is one i need to check out!

Anyway, today to save some cash I'm going to pluck my eye brows.  OUCH!  just thinking of it hurts!!  but it costs no less than $10 to have them waxed!  *sigh* i wish I could say that i just don't care if they're done or not, but i do.  they open up the eyes and make eye shadows look better... i think!

Also, tonight i'm going to hang back up the clothes line i took down vowing to never use it.  my mom used it religiously and i hated the stiffness of everything!  i don't usually use fabric softener, but i'll add just a little bit to the loads (especially towels and jeans).  I love the convenience of my dryer, but I'm not loving the cost of it.

If you don't like fabric softener, you could use vinegar.  I believe it's a cup a load on average if you want to do that.

I use vinegar as a softener in my wash - poured into the softener section.   Also I have been throwing my clothes into the dryer on medium for 5-10 minutes before hanging them on the line.   My washer is older and I was finding all my clothes were just too linty - the brief toss through the dryer seems to take a bit of wrinkle out and get the lint off things very well.  I have also read of people who give them a quick toss in the dryer afterwards instead but mine are usually too dry by then.

i use vinegar as softener.  i put it in the softener dispense in my washer .  i dry most things on clothesline and when they are dry, i put them in dryer on no heat fluff for about 5 minutes and that gets rid of all wrinkles and lint.   i dont put my sheets and covers in dryer because i love the smell of those straight from the clothesline.  a few wrinkles dont hurt my sheets a bit

If you look under active threads you will see May 14 Stretching....there is one each day it's usually titled as such.  It's a nice info sharing, chatty thread.  :)

most of the time I buy premade hamburger patties but since our student is staying the summer, we will go though many more!  so bought a hamburger press and bought a big batch of sale hamburger to make patties for the freezer.
