    Crochet Blessing

I have been quite bored at work lately & meaning to bring some crochet with me, but was forgetting. I can't find my yarn! I have quite a collection stored in a plastic-under-the-bed thingie. Have no idea where it is! It may be behind mattresses in the garage (using the garage as a storage room while we prepare to move again.)

    Anyways....

I dug through my craft bins and found that fuzzy yarn that was so popular a few years ago for scarfs. I bought a few thinking I would make a scarf & never did. As I only had 1 small ball of each color I wasn't sure what I was going to do with it, but took it to work anyways. I made the cutest purse! It is a small hot pink sling purse. The work ladies went crazy for them & I got an order to make 2 and maybe more.  The yarn can be so expensive, sometimes up to $8. I'm charging $12 for the purse & found the yarn on sale at hobby lobby for $2. Good Stuff! I make them at work, so I'm still being paid on company time. Cool beans. I look forward to making a little spending money this way. If I can get a few extra made, then I will put them in my friend's booth at the farmer's market.

If I can get my camera working, I will post a pick here. I didn't have a pattern. I've never been good with patterns! Too many rules to stifle my creativity.

***I work in a call center, so as long as I am logged into my phone & available for calls, the company doesn't care that I crochet or read or whatever.

Crochet is an easy craft to take along with you.  Knitting seems to be cumbersome because of the needles, one hook is so much easier to tote around.

The shawls made with the very finest of wool yarn are just stunning in their design, more like a spider web, they are so intricate.  An old legend is that the finest of shawls should be able to pass thru a wedding ring.  Some of the names associated with the lace shawls are Orenburg, Shetland and Estonian.

If you want to see a beautiful shawl work-in-progress and the final result look at this:

Thanks for the support! Sorry I have been MIA lately. So far I have made & sold 4 purses since the original post. I have one in inventory & will probably get 2 made tonight. If I can get my inventory well ahead of demand, I might be able to start my etsy store :-)

The lady at church wants to put them in her farmer's market booth which starts at the end of the month. I am starting to put a button closure on them & will probably start lining them before they get posted on etsy. So far the orders have been for small children & things that do not require a liner.
