    Hobbies

When you aren't cutting coupons, making menu plans or mixing laundry detergent, what do you enjoy doing with your free time?

Sleeping?!?!  lol  I love to crochet and do old fashiond crafts.  Just found one on the net where you take the old lightly stained dresser cloths and cut them in half.  Sew a hem at the raw cut, and fold in 1/3's, sew up the side seem, leaving the embroidered end flap free.  Use for gift bags.  : )  I have a ton of these dresser cloths and will be doing this as soon as the weather breaks.

I also have quite a few old sweaters that I will make hat, scarves and mittens with for kids and I want to make a few colorful throw pillows too.

And I have a stash of bed skirts of all sizes, I will cut the skirt edge off and make valances.  I will use the center material to either line home made quilts(two older blankets sewn together)or winter curtains.

And I am making Etui Boxes and purses for gifts.  ; )

I am writing a book, a page a day except on the Sabbath.  It's called ANXIOUS TO BELIEVE:  HOW TO HEAL YOUR SOUL.  It's a Jewish mental health book.

This has cut my sewing time to virtually non-existent, but you can't have everything at one time!

I am still, of course, doing my frugalities, such as making birthday cards, & doing necessary mending.

    Re: Hobbies

I actually have hobbies besides home management, LOL! I enjoy reading and playing computer and role-playing games. I also enjoy golfing with my husband though we won't make comments on my skill.

I am anxious to get out my recumbent bike and to start building our PVC human powered quad cart.  We dont do sports at our house, but if I could I would love to start boxing.  And I have spent one hour of almost everyday since October 11, 2006 practing and teaching myself to play the bagpipes.  They say a cemetery has the best acoustics for practice, so I sneak over to the Veterans Cemetery once a week.  Doesnt seem to bother anyone that I play badly, at least I haven't heard any complaints!  lol

I think you win the most interesting hobby award for playing bagpipes in the graveyard!

    Re: Hobbies

Read (nonfiction mostly), knit, embroider, needlepoint, garden, play piano, play guitar, write (although it's a "job," it's also a hobby). I have a lot of interests that aren't reflected in that list but would be hard to explain. I don't play bagpipes in the cemetery, though...

Oh of course, I would never say a word about you playing in graveyards. Posting it where thousands can read it and telling my husband doesn't count.
