    Connecting to your site.................

For a day or two, before I joined your group ~ access was immediate and I was able to read different areas ~ and thought, what a wonderful site, and joined!  But the day I joined and before I did join, access was slow, really slow!  Now, after joining and being here a couple of days ~ access takes a long time to get to different threads, within different sections.

Is it your "server" having hiccups?  You see..............I don't have access problems anywhere else....

Hi ... I just logged on and not having any problems or issues accessing pages or logging-in or moving from 'page to page'. Could the problem be with your internet connect/speed ? Could you log-out and log back in again?

I am not having access trouble here. I wonder what the trouble could be.

Mine has been doing fine too, but sometimes when our service provider, TimeWarner/RoadRunner is having problems with their servers it goes very slow. A couple of weeks ago they were getting some hacking hits and it was almost impossible to stay connected, and we have broadband cable so it shouldn't have done that if all was well.

Also if my McAfee antivirus is doing an update or scan that slows it down too. When some event is going on nationally, like the election and lots of people are on line that, too, slows it down.Edey

I've had some issues off and on for the past week or so.  Just a couple of times, the site simply would not load for me.  I got an error message yesterday that said the link was broken.  However, when I tried again later, it worked great.

I'd say it was my computer but that wouldn't make sense since the other sites I visit on a daily basis and even some I don't aren't giving me any problems.  I think it may be site upgrades or something that causes little blurps every now and then.  That's been the case on other forums I've dealt with but I may be wrong.

I have not been having problems.

Do your regularly clean out your temporary internet files and the like?

My Dad also told me he is having problems with his Internet Explorer.  I use Mozilla Firefox for forums now.  There just seems to be way fewer board conflicts with Firefox.  I only use IE when I have to.

I switched from Internet Explorer to Firefox a few weeks ago too, because IE was just going horribly slow. The only problem that I have now with Firefox is that it likes to crash too often for no good reason, most often when I try to do a login or hit a "post" button to send something I've written. Somedays it will be no problem at all other days quite often, but at least it has that recovery feature to take you back to where you were. Most of my internet time is spend on the same sites everyday, so for it to crash one day and not the next makes me think it's something in the programming, possibly of the ads that are all over every page you load up.  Edey

It wasn't your computer. I had the same thing happen to me yesterday morning. It worked fine about ten minutes later, though.

Something that might help - make sure your browser is updated. Firefox, especially needs to be updated to work the best.
