$20 store coupon with no other purchase necessary.

My pantry continues to grow with low-cost foods.

    $130 sample medications free.

    Yippee!

wow that is good deals for the store coupon and meds!

I like stocking the pantry with sales! of course that is the reason it is stocked mostly!  either cheapest I can get it normally or sale items.

funny how there is rarely good sales on things like canned beans.

I bought 4 pairs of Riders jeans on clearance at Kmart.com for $2 a piece.

I got a $5 bag of candy for free with a coupon that came inside a $14 dvd that ds#1 bought.

    Just in time for Halloween!

We went yard-saling yesterday.  Our best finds were a pair of black pants for my husband for $1, two trellis nets for our garden for $1, and a whole box of assorted bottles and jars (suitable for organizing our spice cabinet) for free from a woman who was giving away everything just to get rid of it.  We also got a travel alarm clock at her house, but we had to spend $4.50 on a battery for it.

Wow! That's unbelievable! Surprise  That's one of my little frugal fantasies, actually. I only wear Rider jeans, either from Kmart or Walmart. They fit me right, and they look every bit as good as designer jeans, but are usually less than $20. But I often wish I could walk in to the store and find a few pairs on clearance for less than five bucks. You really did it! Yes  Now I have hope! LOL

Kmart is one of my favorite stores. I grew up less than 1/4 mile from one & have always shopped there.

Last week Macey's had 16oz ground cinnamon for $3.59 a bottle. That's almost the same price they charge on sale for the little bottles! I just used up almost all my cinnamon stash dehydrating apples with cinnamon sprinkled on top, so the timing was great for me. I bought 2 jars, one for me & one for oldest DD, who also cans a lot of apples & baked a lot from scratch.

I went back to the kmart site and now they are sold out.....I got in on the deal in the nick of time! If they get more in I'll post the link. But otherwise keep checking the kmart clearance on the website...they have some other jeans for $4.99....but I like Lee or Riders jeans, I can usually get a good fit without trying them on first.

Thanks! The Kmart closest to me closed down a few months ago, so I'd have to drive about six miles to the next one. Not a huge distance, I know, but it would feel like it if that's the only reason I'd go that way, especially if I got there and they didn't have any jeans in my size on the clearance rack!      Repaired my slippers (sole had parted from upper and foam was shredding ou). Stuffed paper towels into the separations and where the foam was, tied ii tight with string, filled it up with Gorilla Glue.

They are good now for at least another year. Also got 2 boxes Dreamfields Pasta for $1.00 each (on sale for $2.00, coupon for $l.00 off).

    Re: Recent frugal triumphs

On the right side of my tiny front porch & steps was an enormous arborvitae bush.  It was taking over half the area of the porch & steps. The original owner planted one of these on either side of the front bay window, & they are just too large for the spot.  Neither my husband nor I particularly like these bushes to start with, but they are already planted & look ok, except that they are too large..

Last night I googled these bushes & found that they can be severely pruned back, & it is best done in late fall.  DH & I discussed our options.  Tonight it is supposed to snow.   So today I cut back the bush by the stairs to one half its side.  The garbage can is full of the prunings, so I will not prune back the other bush until after the garbage can is empty, so I don't have to pay extra to take the prunings to the dump.

If the bushes survive, they will be a more appropriate size.  If not, then I will remove them & plant dwarf burning bushes, which I know can be severely pruned to maintain the desired size.  We both like the deep red color the burning bush leaves turn in fall.  On the other hand, if the green arborvitae bushes can be maintained at a smaller size, they will look nice again & cost nothing.
