LORRIE,

I also have that book...it opened my eyes, to the fact just how powerful the drug comopanies are...that had never crossed my mind before...so I found that very educational, but I have to agree with the poster...about don't take yourself off of a prescribed medication from your doctor...because of the book...why not stay on your prescribed medication, and still do the things you mentioned...walking every day, green leafy vege's etc....and you may see improvements on down the road, and doc may take you off the medication....

I bought it bascially, cause I like to know information about such things, but no, I have done nothing that he recommends....because I get enuff excercise on my own, and don't have any medical problems...

just be careful...I mean he may be 100% correct...but what if he isn't????

and no, me not being bossy either...

Re: Folk Medicine....

graci42:

.....

It's not bee-sting season for most of us, but I really admired this writer's gumption in delibrately getting himself stung several times so that he could test a variety of home and commercial remedies. Of the 12 remedies he tested, he said that toothpaste or ice were the best at alleviating the stinging/itching sensation.

Re: Folk Medicine....

I've become interested in using home-mixed warm saline solutions for nasal irrigation. I haven't gone so far as to buy a neti pot, but I've been trying different ways to delivering the saline solution to the nasal cavities. Something I tried this morning for dry mucus membranes is just using a regular cotton swab to swab the saline solution inside. For someone dealing with a small child with dry sinuses, or otherwise squeamish about pouring warm salt water up the nose, this might be a viable way to get some relief. I have noticed a major difference in my comfort over the past week as I've begun experimenting with warm saline solutions.

Re: Folk Medicine....

Can anyone tell me about using vinegar for weight loss?
