I always thought it was weird. We also had a lady who had been a customer for 30+ years, and she would bring in old shoes with new laces and ask them to lace them for her, and then leave. She was always polite, and I thought maybe she had some medical condition that made it difficult for her joints or something to lace them herself, but it seemed an awful lot of trouble to come out to the shoestore to get them laced instead of having a family member or an aide or someone lace them for you.

    Joyous:

Maybe she didn't understand the concept? Wasn't it Albert Einstein who couldn't tie his shoes?

    But then, people are peculiar!

    Edey:
Shoe companies really should do something about making shoes comfortable and nice looking too.

The SAS shoes are really comfortable to wear, but they are expensive, $100 per pair, more or less, depending upon if there is a sale.  They are basic styles.  For boots I like Blondo from Canada, another expensive but worth it choice.  I think I will be making a list from this thread of shoes to hunt down and try on!

When I wore high heels it was usually Naturalizer.

My favorite shoes have all been Borns, but their quality is hit-and-miss (actually, their fitting is what's hit-or-miss) and in the past year I've been very put off by their marketing and with their lack of customer service, so I will probably never buy Borns again unless second-hand in a flea market or something.
