I wonder if there's sauce in mine?  It's just a tiny, clear plastic bag with those skinny greeen beans, mini carrots and a small knob of broccoli.  But it has a few gray squares of something in there, lol.  Maybe it's sauce?  I can't stand it now, I'll have to fix them tonight!  Most of the writing's in french, so I don't know what it says!  You don't even *** the bag, just put it in the 'wave straight out of the freezer.

I have a stack of the bags of rice, myself.  We buy rice in #10 cans by the case so I really don't need more.  Even the church food pantries here won't take plain rice as they say people want either instant or pre-cooked rice and only convenience stuff.  I'll just decant them into my cans of rice a little along...Liz

That sounds like the same veggies. They were really good though. Let me know if yours seemed to have that extra flavoring and how they come out.

Did you ever make the kids separate the beans into the different kinds? Good math lesson,LOL Seriously, we like kidney beans in chilli and pea or great northern for baked beans.  Pinto beans with corn bread. They all have a different taste.Never did like cooking the different kinds together.

Ok, lol, tried the veggies.  It was a sauce, a butter-herb type, very subtle.  I had those and the frozen lasagne with some garlic bread.  I don't normally buy frozen entrees, but the ones in the AF package so far have been pretty good.  And today was a good day to make it as I've been outside painting all day and the last thing I wanted to do was cook. The lasagne was ok, not as good as the cheese manicotti or chopped steaks, but good...Liz

The cheese manicotti was definitely tasty stuff. My family likes the lasagna and it's something we actually buy from time to time.

Thanks Brianschef.  I guess I have missed the August but I have put the Sept ordering dates on my calendar.  We have been traveling so much this summer, this is the first day I have checked these posts in a couple of weeks.

It is inconvenient to have to pay by a certain date then only have one day several weeks later in which to pick up the food. I have missed purchases due to other obligations on pick up day more than a few times. But I feel I save overall.

I bought pkgs in March and April, but overall, I'm disappointed in the amount of breaded chicken there is. My DH is diabetic/high cholesterol and it just doesn't work for us. I wish there was more unprocessed meat. It is a good value for those w/o a lot of dietary restrictions who are looking to save some money.
