Petfinder www.petfinder.com shows adoptive animals in shelters and/or rescue groups throughout the US. Shelters always need items, volunteers. Every rescue group in the country needs foster homes with the economy the way it is. Donations (money or items) to organizations is tax deductible.  I foster for a specific organization and can deduct even pet food for animals not my own.  Links to many rescue/pet adoption organizations in the US & Canada.

Well, though it may not be a website that is advertised as a frugality site, I find that it's VERY much about frugality. They make the best use of what they have, including their limited land space, live simply, and seem to be very self-sufficient. Their website isn't updated often, but I find myself refering back to it very regularly and it's one of my favorite bored-at-work-let's-web-surf websites. LOL. I wish I was closer to that area so I could go tour their home.
