Pat:I hope it doesn't, either! After that experience, I'm cautious about the microwave.
I don't normally use it either but every now and then, I experiment with something. Too often I am reminded that there is a reason that I prefer a conventional stove and oven.
I like to experiment now and then, but like you, I find out all too often that the more conventional way of cooking is best. I hope the peanut brittle turns out, though. That would make it simpler and faster than stovetop.
Hi,
I have to tell you, I got a recipe for homemade peanut brittle in the microwave from one of those great brand name cookbooks. I had all the ingredients but I made it with pecans instead and it was terrific!! My husband loved it. In fact we went and bought some more pecans and some cashews to make more for Christmas presents.
I do not know if it is the same recipe but a friend of mine has a 17 year grandson that can make the microwave peanut brittle and it is very good. I tried to make it myself a couple of years ago but mine did not turn out.
Imur you are a badddd girl, sounds great and good...:)

I believe this is the recipe I use to make brittle in the microwave. Your cooking time may need to be adjusted to work for your microwave, but it tastes just like regular brittle. I've made peanut, cashew and almond. All came out fine.
