Hi Everyone!
I am new here.
I get alot of my Kitchen Gadgets and Cookware at Antique Shops, and thrift stores.
I have a set of Cast Iron Frying pans that I paid maybe 50.00 for, that are as slick as glass and nothing sticks to them! There is not enough money in the world to pry them out of my hands!
What I am still looking for is a forerunner to a Mandolin, they are made of metal with just one blade. If anyone knows where I can get one please let me know!
Due to the Mortage mess we are now living in a converted Motel, so I don't have an oven, I have a hotplate for my stove, and a Ronco Rotisserie for roasting things, a Crockpot for soups and Stews. And my Charcoal grill for meats, and smoking. Every other family is just amazed at what I can cook with just these items. The trick, you have to think! Something can be made from practically nothing if you think about it! I have maybe 200 cookbooks, I use them for ideas, and basic ingredients, then adapt to what I have to work with.
Oh, I forgot, our fridge....one of those College Dorm sized ones...with winter coming alot of stuff will be outside our kitchen window! You just make it work!
Why you ask are we staying here???? It's 600.00 a month, all utilities (and cable) included! Small yes, but we make it work, and are saving money to get our debts cleared up.
I am really interested to go thru the Forum to find ideas, and will share what I have learned....
Nice to meet you!
God's Blessings~
