    Freezer and pantry mixes

I make some of my own cookie mixes and baking mixes.I buy meat on sale and do freezer mixes that can be used for several different recipes. Some books that are very helpful are.....Make A Mix Cookery and More Make A Mix Cookery by Eliason,Harward, and Westover. They are older books, but they are still pretty easy to find.I was just wondering if anyone else did this..........donna

    Re: Freezer and pantry mixes

I make my own dry mixes for different things. I don't have the freezer space to store much ahead of time so I don't do many of the premixed doughs and other items I would like to eventually do.

I don't have many books for the recipes. I have found my mixes online.

    You are welcome.

I found this site last year when I was making mixes in jars for Christmas gifts. I love it! I really love not having to pay for a book to get the info too, lol.

    Hi Donna!

Welcome to the Forums!  I have the Make A Mix Cookery book and have used it.  Right now I am trying to reorganize everything so it may be awhile before I get back to making them.  I would like to do some of the mixes in a jar that Brandy mentioned.

     Donna and Lynnea,

Is the book worth getting when compared to what is available on the web?

I think so. I paid 2.00 each for mine at a used book store, and i have gotten so much use out of them , they are falling apart. the recipes are easy, and the ingredients are not hard to find..

That would be worth buying at that price. I have seen a few copies but the price was more than that.
