solar lighting can someone help w/info

I am some interested in getting some solar lights....I live int he country so am not interested in the fancy stuff for walkways, etc etc

I would kinda like to put some in the back yard, to brighten up the area beyond where my back porch  light reaches...has anyone tried them,    or any experiences you've had with them...like does one on a pole put out more light, then those on a stake? that type of thing...thanks in advance...

My daughter bought me a couple of sets of those solar lights that hang from hooks or set on short posts. The ones I have don't put out as much light as an electric light, but they do put out some. Hung high, they cover a larger area than on a post, but the light doesn't seem to be as intense. You'd probably want to use 2 to 3 times as many solar lights as traditional electric ones for the same effect.

I like them because they don't cost anything to operate, plus the "automatic" on at dusk, off at sunrise is great.

Nope, they work in the cold just as well as in the heat. Usually the batteries charge up enough to last a few days of cloudy weather, too.
