Re: What Do You Cook in Your Slow Cooker?
I do roasts, whole chickens, and certain recipes. I have one where you layer potato wedges, then carrots, then chicken breasts, then pour on italian dressing. I've done a meatloaf in it before but DH likes my upside down meatloaf better. I've never made soup in my cooker, but I suppose I could. I have a 1 quart cooker, too, that came with a chocolate sauce recipe -- like a fondu, but without the fire! It's really good, but I only make it for guests b/c I have to buy ingredients I don't normally keep on hand. I've been reading up on making beans in my crock-pot, but I rarely need more than 2 cups at a time, so I've been trying to figure out if I can do that in my small cooker.

I do mostly stews, soups, ribs and whole chickens. I have 4 crock pots 2qt, 4qt. 6qt. and Nesco 6qt that has temperature settings so you can bake and roast in addition to slow cook.

Re: What Do You Cook in Your Slow Cooker?
I have cooked chicken, pot roast, meat loaf, pork chops, soups, stews, chili, hot dips, a shredded potato casserole, potatoes with jackets on, dried beans, corn mix snack, and more. Never too many crock pots in the kitchen.

I use it mostly for stew, spaghetti sauce, chinese vegetables, soups, things like that. I'll sometimes mix up a boxed cake mix and cook it in the crock pot, yum yum! It reminds me of a steamed pudding, it's awesome!

Re: What Do You Cook in Your Slow Cooker?
I've used it mostly for stews, usually only a few times a month But yesterday found a great blog with some fabulous looking recipes! And recipes for things I'd never even considered making in a slow cooker, like yogurt. I tried the yogurt recipe last night and woke up to homemade yogurt this am- it's amazing!
